we have swithed pharmacies and were given a differant pill than we are used to. Is there a differance between diltiaz er (cd)180/24cap actav eliz and diltiazem 180? ## The difference listed for the dosage, since the Diltiaz ER CD is listed as 180/24 leads me to believe that it is not the same medication even though I can't find specifics listed anywhere. Such a dosage, usually denotes that it contains 2 active ingredients and, in such cases, the Diltiazem is often coupled with another medication to give better blood pressure control. I just can't find anything that lists what the other ingredient is. If it were me, I'd return to the pharmacy and ask them for specifics on exactly what it contains, because if your doctor didn't order a change to the medication, they should...

I have had neck pain sice started taking Diltiaz CD 180, Is this normal? Have others had this problem? ## Diltiazem is a calcium channel blocker, commonly used to treat conditions such as hypertension. And yes, most of these medications do cause this type of side effects. If so, then this tablet contains 30mgs of Diltiazem, a generic for Cardizem, used to treat high blood pressure. Common side effects may include: nausea, dizziness and headache.
