Diltiazem Hydrochloride Extended Release Capsules

not sure ## How long does it take for diltiaXT180mg to leave your system and side effects to subside? ## My doctor started me on Diltiazem HCL time released beads 240/CP24 in January of 2012. Over time the meds continued to make me dizzy and the headaches would come and go. My doctor said it was my body adjusting to my blood pressure. My BP went down but not as much as I wanted. My insurance plan covers this med so I don't have to pay for it. On 3/24/11 was not feeling well because of the headaches and dizziness so I went to the ER. The ER doc asked me why I was taking Diltiazem......I told her that's what my doctor prescribed. My heart is fine. After checking me out she prescribed Hydralazine 10 mg and I was discharged. Took them the next day and there were no headaches. Saw my...

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, low heart right, and hypertension. I cannot possibly list all the medications that may cause blood thinning. To the OP can you please post back and clarify which one you are asking about? Thank you!

Diltiazem CD, XR & ER

What is the difference between diltiazem CD, diltiazem XR and diltiazem ER? Can you refer me to a website where I could research this information? ## There is no difference, it's just different abbreviations for the same thing, a time released version of the medication, some places will us CR, ER or XR, there is no definitive way that it has to be done. Diltiazem is a calcium channel blocker used to treat hypertension and angina. You can read more here: Do you have any other questions? ## Not quite true. These are indeed all timed release versions of diltiazem, but they all use different drug delivery systems and are released into the body at different rates. Diltiazem and Xarelto

Can these two drugs, when taken together, cause strokes in women over 55? I was told by a pain management doctor that I should not take these two together. ## I see warnings about taking them together causing increased bleeding risks in those with kidney disease, but nothing specific to women over 55, as listed by NIH and FDA reports. There are many cases where these are prescribed together to treat various heart conditions. Are you on any other medications?

My Dr is reducing my diltiazem from 120 twice a day to once a day, and says he is concerned about this water retention. I am on Jed's for the water retention and I am concerned that my heart rate will go bonkers. ## I am concerned that by reducing my daily dose of diltiazem (120)twice a day to just one dose of 120 will cause my heart to go back into Afib.the doctor is concerned with the edema in my legs,he has me on a diuretic.,and has me on just once a day with the 120 dose of diltiazem.( just started). I am also on metropol 75 twice a day. ## It is always best to follow your doctor's instructions and the only thing you can really do is take the dosage they have told you to take and see what happens. Switched from nadolol to diltizem CD 120mg

I've had severe weight gain after being on nadolol for 2 years without success in diet plans. Dr switched me to diltizem CD 120 mg at bedtime. My heart rate was up to 100-110 today (I just started it last night and stopped the nadolol). How long does it take for it to have a full effect on my system? A few days or weeks? How long before I should tell my Dr to up the dose? How long to take diltiazem after open heart surgery.

I am 39 and recently had quintuple bypass surgery. They took one artery out of each arm, a vein from my leg and used my mammoral artery. The surgeon said I would have to take diltiazem for about 3 months post-op so my radial arteries wont pulse and close off. My cardiologist says that I need to be on it for the rest of my life. My surgeon is also a cardiologist. Who should I listen to? Is the cardiologist just saying that to get kickbacks? Three months is a big difference from the rest of my life. ## Hello, Jay! How are you? Generally bypass patients do need to take such a medication for the rest of their lives, your surgeon may have just said it would be 3 months, initially, then you should be reevaluated to see how you are doing. Unless he owns a pharmacy, there is no way for your car...

Actavis Diltiazem Cd

I have been told by CVS that Diltiazem CD 120 mg cap is discontinued ## I haven't been able to find anything on this, but you are not the first person who has been told that by their pharmacy, so I can only assume that it's correct. The best suggestion I can make in this case is to contact your doctor and ask about getting an alternative medication prescribed. Running out and missing doses could be very dangerous, so you definitely need to avoid doing that. Does anyone know more about this? ## If Diltiazem 180 was discontinued, it's interesting that I just picked up my prescription today. Was told by CVS several months ago that Warfarin in 3mg pills was not available, but I found out it was. They apparently just switched suppliers. ## I have taken Diltiazem CD for about 10 y...
