Differences Between Trazodone And Tramadol
UpdatedWhat are the differences between Trazodone and Tramadol? Are they the same thing? Do they have similar uses?

No, they are not the same.
Trazodone is an antidepressant that is also used to treat anxiety, and some severe forms of anxiety. (NDC code 0179-1118) The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and weight changes.
However, Tramadol is an opioid that is used to relieve pain. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, and constipation. It also carries the risk of being habit forming. (NDC code 0093-0058)
Is there anything else I can help with?
Trazodone is an older anti-depressant. Considered an SARI. It is most widely prescribed nowadays as a non-benzo sleep aid. It works quite well for sleep. It may help with anxiety and certain types of pain. Trazodone is not considered to be habit forming.
Tramadol is a synthetic opioid used to treat moderate to severe pain. It has SNRI properties (meaning it will likely speed you up a bit). Tramadol is widely known to decrease the seizure threshold especially in large doses. It has been discovered to be habit forming with strong physical dependence. Withdrawals from Tramadol have been compared to that of diamorphine (Heroin) withdrawals, some say worse.

Not sure if my particular post is invisible or if you just can't see it but trazodone IS an anti-depressant. That was its intended "clinical" use. However, more often than not in current times, it is prescribed as a sleep aid and for sleep associated with acute detox from a number of different habit forming substances.
Tramadol can cause serious Hallucinations if taken regularly even if prescribed. Best to get off as soon as possible because it is an opioid.

Seriously I think your being somewhat dramatic regarding your post. I have taken tramadol for apx 6 months now following 3 back surgeries. I find tramadol a much better alternative to the more powerful pain medications. I take two 50 mg tablets twice daily as needed. As of date there has been only one time I needed to take the two tablets daily. Its a medication that has work for me very well.
