Did They Stop Making The Roxane 54 411 Buprenorphine? (Page 6)

I have been getting the generic Subutex Roxane brand 54 411 Buprenorphine tablets for months now from Walmart pharmacy and the past two times I've gotten my prescription filled there, I was given a different generic made by Hi Tech with an 8 and an arrow. I asked them why the change because those little tablets just are not the same and they said the Roxane ones could not be ordered. I called around to other pharmacies I have gotten my prescription filled at before also and was also told that the Mylan M 924s can no longer be ordered either. What's going on with the Roxane and Mylan Buprenorphine tablets? Did they stop making them or is there some kind of shortage? I had the choice of getting the small Hi Tech tablets which seem alot less potent than the Roxane or the Actavis 153 half moon orange tablets which I cannot stand at all. Has anyone else had a problem getting the Roxanes or the Mylans or know for sure what's happening? I did see that Roxane merged with West Ward but don't know if that has anything to do with it or when the merge occurred and the 54 411 tablets are still listed on the West Ward site as a medication they manufacturer. I've heard everything from they are not making either of the brands anymore to there is just a temporary shortage of the brands.

I'm in Tn and I've always got 54 411 then started getting RP ones which was fine but the past 3 times I have been giving the small ones and the oblong orange ones. I use walmart. They keep telling me the are ordering them and they are on back order. All I want is the big round white ones.

Wow I’m in Oregon and all of the Walmart’s are telling me the same thing (they’re on backorder) I managed to get my prescription yesterday but I will most likely have to switch next month. Everyone tells me that all the genetics are the same, but they definitely affect me differently. The little white ones had no affect on me whatsoever, I was even experiencing withdrawals! This is scary :(

No the generics are not even close to the same. I'm so sick of hearing people say that or having pharmacy techs giving me attitude because I don't want certain brands because I've taken them and they are absolutely garbage. I miss the name brands and old Teva's. The generics have been getting worse and worse the past handful of years. There should always be a brand name or an equivalent using the same formula so people can choose to get quality over cheap crap.

I have no issue with the Sun Pharm 460s...after years on 54 411. In fact, they hold me longer without needing a dose. Guess everyone reacts differently. I can say the 8 arrows are beyond garbage..if they don't want ppl to abuse these... Why create a bupe only pill with less filler than a roxy 30? Dumb move guys. The ppl who like hi-tech 8 arrows probably abuse them.

I know this is so frustrating!!! I’ve been on these Roxanne’s for many years, and now nobody has them so I’m not sure what to get this month. Those 8 arrow ones are terrible. The orange moons are terrible. I just don’t know what to get. Rhodes or Hikma (which says 54 411 on them which the Roxanne’s do as well but I heard they were garbage so I don’t know lol.) sorry I’m all over the place! Thank you for responding :)

Rhodes is on back order. So unless they JUST came off then those are not available. Rhodes is by far the best generic on the market in my opinion. Way better than the hikma pills. They are probably comparable to the old Roxanne pills before they changed them. The rest are garbage really. The only other one that even seemed like it was worth getting in an emergency was the actavis but it's full of fillers and the orange flavor kills me. Hi tech is way underdosed and sun was like I was taking a different medication and I had withdrawal even when I upped the dose. Mylan was the worst it had like no buprenorphine in them! Crazy.. I'm just hoping that Rhodes comes off of back order soon because this seems to happen every year with whatever brand I'm taking. I had gotten rhodes for 7 months straight then this month I had to get the hi techs and ugh jeez. This is ridiculous. They should bring back the brand name version and have it available to people who want high quality and don't mind paying more. Or sell the brand formula to a company who can release it as the brand name again. I would definitely only use the brand name if it was available.

Yes ROXANNE SOLD OUT TO WESTWARD AND THEN WESTWARD SOLD OUT TO HIKMA. Hikma has tweaked the ingredients and they aren’t the same anymore in my opinion. Good luck. The best two on market now are Hikma and Rhodes/Perdue. Those are the only two worth a s***. The rest suck so bad. And now a new one is out called Acorn.

Jay, you are so right about the little Hi-Tech ones and people abusing them. I live in Buffalo NY and have a lot of friends who are all in recovery and have been on Subutex for the last few years. I know maybe ten people including myself who all have always taken the 54s. Then there's maybe 2 or 3 we know who would always specifically request the Hi-Tech ones because they abuse them, apparently it's like pure Subutex with no filler, where the 54s are like 3/4 chalk and cut. Anyone I know that's taking their subs as prescribed, sublingually, have all said the same thing- that these tiny ones SUCK and you start feeling slight withdrawals after taking them a few days, then really really s***ty after taking them for a week or two. I could not believe after being clean for 4 years that I was waking up in withdrawals last month.

I found this old post probably the same way you all did- typing into Google why can't I get my Roxanne labs Subutex anymore. The rite aid I've used for 4 years filled my script the last 2 months with the Hi-Tech, without even calling me before doing it, when it specifically says in my rite aid prescription profile to NOT fill by Hi-Tech no matter what, I've been going there for years they all KNOW there that I can't take these garbage things, my doctor has specifically sent them faxes for them to keep in their files that I can only take the Roxanne or mylan ones. Their excuse was "well it's the only ones available, anywhere, right now so you don't have a choice, we can't even order them anymore" that's what my pharmacist told me last month at my regular rite aid, so how did I get them filled at another rite aid 8 miles away this morning with Roxanne? They did tell me this morning that at their location they do have more ordered, but they are in backorder and have been for weeks without receiving any new deliveries or any idea of when they will actually come in. My usual rite aids head pharmacist who I've been dealing with for years told me last month that they're not making them anymore, that I have no choice. But this other rite aid location, that I've never used before, tells me this morning that it's not true, they're just on backorder. So I don't know who to believe, all I know is I'm praying to God they get some Roxanne's, or mylans, or something ANYTHING besides these hi-tech's or orange activas or whatever they are called, those are just as bad. It just infuriates me that the pharmacists are acting like I'm so ridiculous asking for the 54s, like I'm abusing them or something, when it's 100% the people who order the hi-tech's who are the abusers, they've got it so backwards it gets me so mad.

No they didnt. I beliebe a bew mfg makes em.now tho. Last month i had the hikma 460s this month back to 54 411 (my preferred-even tho they're all the same. Cept those tiny 8 arrows by hi tec) even my doc said ALL his patients gate the small 8 arrows. This month was back to 54 411 as i said. But mfg. Still said hikma? Hmm il google it

54 411 are my fave. Habe u tried the new white round 460s? I liked em. But they have alot of hate here on em.

I found out the “Akorn“ are the small ones and just the same as hi-tech. I hate the hi-tech, they are garbage, the absolute worst! There is a huge shortage of the 54 411s, it’s so frustrating. I can NOT take the small ones, they are useless!!!! Are they on backorder everywhere?

I'm in southwest Florida, just yesterday picked up my 90 subs from CVS in the sealed bottles say hikma from CVS my normal pharmacy has not been able to get the Rhodes for me, now it could have been worse because I almost settled with the orange half moon from Walgreens, and would have had a rotten month..

So the Hikma ones are garbage too? The last prescription I got said Roxanne on it, but now those are on backorder as well as the Rhodes. I don’t understand how Roxane is still available if they were bought out. Many pharmacies in my area only have hikma or the stupid activas ones. I can’t wait to get off this

If you had a bottle that said Roxanne on them, they must have been very old. Because Roxanne has not been available for a very, long time. The only 6 generics available can be found by Google under BTODREMS. Here you can find all generics for buprenorphine/or buprenorphine with naloxone. This page is for reference for us. Doctors, nurses, pharmacists, for only buprenorphine products are...Actavis Elizabeth... Hi-tech... Hikma... Rhodes,..and sun pharmaceuticals..you will also notice that each product has more buprenorphine than others. Like some say 8.64 equivalent to 8mg, and some say just 8mg... so if I'm paying good money for mine obviously I want more in mine, so I always choose the best which is Rhodes but that's been on backorder for months now so the only other one I will accept is hikma brand. They are both very good. When we were able to buy Roxanne they were the best generic, but then westward bought them out,..they changed their ingredients and they became chalky and dull with chips, now hikma bought them out and I have noticed the pills are nice and shiny,..no chips and just as beautiful as the Rhodes pills look...

No absolutely not. I emailed customer service with Hikma (sp)? Yesterday and they responded back to me this AM. This brand is manufactured daily and not on any backorder. You may want to check CVS as that is the pharmacy I have used. Walmart was stocking this brand however apparently stopped. I went to Walmart for about 6 months until they came up with their own product. You must live in the same county! Not enough to be in the state. My county is 2 MLS away yet I had to transfer. Typically I don't care but I had problems then they had that wicked Sun 460. Ok, hope this helps. God bless

Actually hikima changed from when they first released under that name. Initially they were awful then I just had them the last two months and they were just like the old Roxanne pretty much. They must have changed them back. I was able to get rhodes yesterday and honestly they are pretty comparable now. I didn't notice a difference when I switched back.

Yes the shortage is there! You know why all the hype from FDA since January of this year, ridiculous. I like the 54/411 and Sams club had then they closed there store. Then Walgreens Bartells and now Cvs, as I called them and they have it in! I am so happy as this one works so well! I had the orange ones recently m8?! Terrible the orange made me feel like I was going thru withdrawal! Then the anxiety of it was not good at all! The 8 arrow are great but it seems like a lot of people don’t like it, they are all different!! Consistency is important!

So if you're saying Roxanne makes the 54 411's the pharmacy I've been using for the past two years, had them UNTIL October. NOW, regardless of WHO makes the BETTER 54 411's, CAN NOT be found in my small Louisiana town. AFTER reading ALL these comments I'm SO unsure of WHAT brand I'll GET from any other pharmacy! Equivalent or junk! Subutex 54 411's has BEEN the best out of 3 OTHER brands I first tried when I FIRST KICKED my three plus decades addiction to opioids. This unfortunate transition, of having to use ANYTHING different, has me VERY concerned. I appreciate ALL of the input.?????
