Did They Stop Making The Roxane 54 411 Buprenorphine? (Page 4)

Updated

I have been getting the generic Subutex Roxane brand 54 411 Buprenorphine tablets for months now from Walmart pharmacy and the past two times I've gotten my prescription filled there, I was given a different generic made by Hi Tech with an 8 and an arrow. I asked them why the change because those little tablets just are not the same and they said the Roxane ones could not be ordered. I called around to other pharmacies I have gotten my prescription filled at before also and was also told that the Mylan M 924s can no longer be ordered either. What's going on with the Roxane and Mylan Buprenorphine tablets? Did they stop making them or is there some kind of shortage? I had the choice of getting the small Hi Tech tablets which seem alot less potent than the Roxane or the Actavis 153 half moon orange tablets which I cannot stand at all. Has anyone else had a problem getting the Roxanes or the Mylans or know for sure what's happening? I did see that Roxane merged with West Ward but don't know if that has anything to do with it or when the merge occurred and the 54 411 tablets are still listed on the West Ward site as a medication they manufacturer. I've heard everything from they are not making either of the brands anymore to there is just a temporary shortage of the brands.

Good deal Scotty. Thanks. I am happy that people are still able to get them. In California at least they are available. It's a shame the chains only concern is money. At least CVS is somewhat flexible. Walgreens flat out issues only Actavis. Which for me were ok, but the Rhodes and Hikma/Westward are the best. It pays to spend the time calling or visiting pharmacies before you fill it. This site helped me immensely or I would be fighting back and forth with CVS still like I was, before, I found the independent compounding pharmacy I now use. Happy days to all. It sure beats the hell out of a monster on the back 24/7!

I have had some difficulty getting the formulation I prefer and l, in the process, learned something that can save you a few calls. Specifically, drug supply in individual pharmacies generally corresponds with the drug distributor the pharmacy uses. In short, if the pharmacies near you use the same pharmaceutical distributor (there are 3 main ones), they will have the same supply of medication. For example, when there was a shortage of a medicine I used, Walgreens and CVS which used the same distributor, were both unable to supply the medicine. Target, which used a different distributor, was able to secure a supply and an independent pharmacy was the only one able to easilysupply the generic.

I just had the same problem. Something in the other brands make me go into instant withdraw so the Roxane brand 54 411 is the one I stay with. Well recently (last week, two days before my script is due) my pharmacy shut down and it left me searching all over and same thing Roxane can not be ordered. Then when I went to one pharmacy the pharmacist actually looked at my pill instead of just searching the Roxane name and she said they had it but it’s not Roxane it’s West-Ward. Same 54 411 marking, put them together and can’t tell them apart. So I filled my script. Well I don’t know how that works with the patent. I searched and it looked like when a merger happens that person can keep the same imprints but reformulate the medicine. Maybe it is in my head but it has a different taste and I am
Noticing some withdrawal symptoms but very mild, but I have only taken 3 doses. I am just worried symptoms will get worse as the other doses wear off. Anyone else use West-Ward??

I’m having the same issue I’ve been taking suburbs from Roxane laboratories 54 411 for years from Walmart now they tell me they’ve been discontinued. I’ve tried a Ravi’s half moons which makes me feel horrible and many others but 54 411 are by far the best. Now I’m about to pick up script from Rhodes pharmaceuticals and the reviews are horrible. Pill imprint to b8 I’ll be sure to let you know how it goes

Re: jb (# 68) Expand Referenced Message

I believe they are most definitely stronger. I'm allowed 3, 8s a day and I get by with no problem what so ever. Let's just say I have been trying to help out a Friend in need and until their insurance kicks in.. I know for a fact I would never be able to do this with any other generic, even hikma,. I'm sure of it

Re: Sinner85 (# 65) Expand Referenced Message

I'm not sure were your getting your bad reviews from above the Rhodes 8mg from? They most definitely are not horrible at all.. I have been taking them since they first came out and I have had not a single problem..think about what is out there and now that's junk. The only two generics we have Rhodes or hikma,.. to choose from live up to original subtext brand that I started on....people will tend to complain about anything, but I'm not going to and possibly jinx it. I will except either or. Just out of the rest of the generics out for us they are no good so let's be happy with these two

I'm still trying to figure out how anyone can say they get Roxanne 54/411s ?? They haven't been around for many years. Now westward to Hikma,54/411s ..yes they do have hikma, 54 411s they are around. I have used every generic buprenorphine on the market and we seem to only have 2 generics worth accepting from a pharmacy

Yes they did merge, so they cannot call to reorder until that is all done. “Rhode” is a brand that is very similar I would recommend

Re: Hannah (# 74) Expand Referenced Message

Rhodes is identical in active and ingredients in everyway. This would make rhodes generic made by purdue the same as brand name medication subutex. Rhodes is even better than the 54 411 formulation. Unfortunately roxanne no longer makes medication and has sold off its pill imprints and some formulations. Unfortunately neither westward pharma or himka who is now the maker of the current 54 411 and they are made in india. They were able to obtain the roxanne imprints of 54 411 but not the actual formulation of roxanne made buprenorphine hcl. The 54 411s are now some of the cheapest generics a pharmacy can purchase and they do. They are chalky fragile tablets that crumble and fall apart quickly unlike when roxanne made them they were shiny nice strong quality made tablets. Unfortunately roxanne's buprenorphine hcl tablets are now a thing of the past and himka makes their own 54 411 tablets which are garbage and made in india.

The rhodes are two times as potent and last two times longer than any generic and I can testify to that as I have compared them all and have the majority of them myself. You want to be careful, the roads is so good and so close to brand name that it can be quite potent and if you take a whole tablet compared to previously taking a different generic it can be quite potent so you might want to take only a half of the roads generic if you get it because it's really potent and if you take more than the amount you're used to you will get sleepy and groggy from the strong buprenorphine. So if you do get the strong brand name rhodes generic be sure to keep in mind that it is really potent and taking half of what you normally do is probably best so you don't get sleepy and groggy. Hoping this information helps. If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask and god bless the healthy and love you guys all.

Re: Charlene (# 73) Expand Referenced Message

Anyone who says they're getting Roxanne generic is getting them illegally through the black market they are absolutely in the real pharmaceutical world now and roads are two times more potent and last two times longer so if you are making the switch to the Rhodes Pharma generic be sure to keep that in mind and only take half of what you normally would take as the potency of Roads can make you sleepy the current 54 411 are himka and if they have the same imprints as the old Roxanne formulation but they most certainly are not their old rocks and formulation they are a garbage generic and of the cheapest price and quality Made in India under the name himka

Thanks for all the information!!! Do they look the same just have different imprint? I’ve tried so many generics and the little white ones sucked badly, and the peach ones are terrible too..
