Diclofenac is in a class of medications called NSAIDs; used to relieve pain, tenderness, swelling, and stiffness.
It works by stopping the body's production of a substance that causes pain, fever, and inflammation.

Is this medication not working as well as you had anticipated? If not, I would probably suggest having your back checked out to see what it is that might be causing the pain. Light jogging on a regular basis may also be helpful for strengthening your back, depending on the cause and severity of your pain.
