How soon after taking Dexedrine will it show in a urine test? For example if I take it tomorrow morning at 8am, by what time will I test positive on a urine test? ## I know that dexedrine reaches peak concentrations in blood after approximately 8 hours for the extended release formulation and 3 hours for immediate release formulation. Average blood* concentration levels were achieved in 12 hours. While I'm not positive, I would imagine that if it's in your blood it's in your urine. Additionally: Dexedrine's is absorbed in stomach and excreted in urine. Higher absorption with alkaline substances. (sodium bicarbonate, etc.) increase absorption of amphetamines. Urinary alkalinizing agents (acetazolamide, some thiazides) increase the concentration of the non-ionized species ...

I have a dexedrine prescription that I received a prior authorization on last year for 150 pills every 30 days. The prior authorization has expired and I need a new one. The pharmacy told me they can only fill for 120 pills until the next prior authorization has been approved so my question is can the pharmacy fill the prescription asking for 150 pills for 120 instead or do I need a whole new script asking just for the 120 ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? In theory, they should be able to fill for the 120, but some pharmacies won't, so you'll need to ask the pharmacist to be sure how they'll handle it. Since this is a controlled substance, they may require a new prescription. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, heada...

Hi all. I have been taking 30mg/day generic dexedrine IR tablets for 7 years now, and while I've seen a shortage happen occasionally it's always passed eventually. I picked up my prescription yesterday and found the pharmacy had given me ER capsules instead of IR tablets. Its a new-ish pharmacy for me so I figured it was a mistake, but when I asked them about it they told me that the generic IR tabs were discontinued entirely. Is this true? I'm located in California in the US. ## @swiftly, From what I've researched, Dextrostat (which is referred to by some as a "generic" for Dexedrine) was reportedly discontinued by Shire Richwood in 2003. NOTE: the actual generic name is Dextroamphetamine, which seems to still be available from the following manufacturers in bot...

Why can't I get 15 mg dexedrine in Edmonton, Canada? Taking equiv. 5mg tabs are screwing up my days/nights. ## My pharmacist told me that Barr just stopped manufacturing Dexedrine. I take 10mg spansules. I live in Illinois. I can't find more info. I was given Actavis generic. They have written on label that "manufacturer is different but is exact same medicine". I dont agree there isn't a difference, and I hope there is an improvement or better choice. I actually did better with Barr generic than brand, but that's just me. But this new generic is disappointing for me. I still have some Barr left so I can very clearly feel the difference in manufacturer. ## I shall do my best to summarize, Smith Kline (USA) were the gold standard for either Instant Release Dexedri...

Twice now Kaiser Hospital has mixed up my meds. My usual dosage is up to 3-10mg, 3 times a day of the orange 10mg tablet INSTANT RELEASE So both times the usual instructions were on the bottle 3-3x a day....but the meds were 10mg SLOW RELEASE spansules. I caught it both times because they look so different. It's a pain for me to go back and exchange them. What's the correct dosage? ## There is no definitive correct dose, it depends on the person, what their doctor prescribes and what works for that individual. The FDA classifies this medication as a stimulant and warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia, nervousness and anorexia. The hospital needs to start paying attention to the specifics of...

I have been taking Adderall IR (Barr) 2 - 20mg 2x a day 80mg total per day for the past 3 yrs. My Doctor changed it to Dextroamp-Amphet ER 20 Mg caps same dosage 80mg total per day. I've been getting constant headaches, neck pain, I'm falling asleep in the middle of the day. I heard a lot about Dexedrine and how it acts the same as Adderall with out these side effects? If so, should i ask my doctor ? Would the same dosage work for me? ## There is no medication that actually works without side effects, some people are just fortunate and don't experience them. How long have you been taking the new formulation that's time released? Learn more Adderall details here. It may simply be a matter of your body needing to get used to it. ## The active drug in dexedrine is dextro-am...

I was first prescribed Dexedrine back in 1997 by a dr carnworth in London, moving to Manchester the script moved with me,starting at 10 pills a day 50mg was not to bad, before I knew it they had raised the dose up to 40 tablets a day 200mg.To much,i was totally insaine, paranoid, nervous, anxiety, but addicted. Then a psychiatrist took me on,she was ok put me on 100mg a day and 30mg diazepam,400mg amisulpride, and 225mg vanlafexine.i was ok then,i suppose, she done tests on me and I was diagnoised with having adult adhd 2 types, she interviewed my mother and looked into my bachground,i had severe adhd as a child. This went onto 2007 where my psychiatrist tells me quickly she is to move/get out of Manchester and she had to go almost then/now.I had to go to that community drug team in my local...

I had a prescription for Zenzedi, and the pharmacy filled it with Dexedrine. Are they the same medication? ## Yes, they are the same medication, they both contain Dextroamphetamine as the active ingredient, they are just different name brands for it. It's most commonly used to treat ADHD, narcolepsy and shift work sleep disorders. This medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia, nervousness, irritability, anorexia and weight loss. what is this pill? It is round white and has SKF/339 on one side and break line with number 5 on the other! ## I found a pill that bears the same 'type' of imprint having "SKF E19" on one side and a break line on the other (but no number 5), and I'm wondering if they could potentially be related. The other major differences are the shape and color of this particular pill being orange & three-sided (like a triangle). It's identified as a 5mg Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine) tablet, and the manufacturer is reported to be GlaxoSmithKline. Maybe if you were to contact the manufacturer directly they'd be able to tell you if its something else they make (or used to make) with the same type of imprint. I hope this helps!

My daughter has had very treatment with the prescription of dexedrine 15 mg extended release spansules for many years. Recently, a different pharmacy filled it for what turned out to be labeled as "dexedrine sulfate(salts)" and my daughter's behavior was worse. She has never tolerated adderall. That particular pharmacist said it is all the same. The other pharmacies say it isnt. Now, years later, at a pharmacy just purchased by the Kroger that supplied the adderal mix before, she has received spansules from corepharma that do not seem to match and the behavior is again intolerable. Of course the pharmacy says its just generic. How can i tell? Being so controlled its mot like i can just go get a different bottle somewhere else and i hear the se thing as others about the wareh...

I am prescribed 300 mg Wellbutrin but just took a 10 mg Dexedrine (not prescribed). I have a pre-employment drug screening coming up soon (within the next week) and was wondering the following question: Knowing that Wellbutrin can cause a false positive for amphetamines in some circumstances on a standard drug test, would these amphetamines show up as the same as those in Dexedrine? Could I hypothetically avoid further (more comprehensive) testing by showing them a prescription for Wellbutrin? Additionally, would 7 to 10 days from the date of ingestion be enough to completely clear the Dexedrine from my system? This is a one time use of Dexedrine, not habitual by any means. Additionally, any advice for flushing Dex out would be appreciated. ## Dexedrine is dextroamphetamine sulfate, so ...

Hello everyone. I woulld like to start off by listing the medications I am on. I am on Dexedrine 3 times a day, Nuerontin 3 times a day, tenex twice a day (morning and evening), Trazadone at bedtime and Diphenyhydramine (Benadryl) at bedtime. I've noticed since I've been on these medications, my appreciation for music has gone down ]:. and while it may not seem like a big deal to some people, to me music has always been my everything, and now I find it really hard to enjoy it when I listen to it /:. I just wanted to know, has anyone else that has been on some of these medications expierenced something like this? I believe it might be the tenex and/or Trazadone. But if anyone has expierenced any change in appreciation of music while on any meds please share! Thanks [: ## Hi, sorr...

my son was on Dexedrine and no longer is available was then prescribed zenzedi the pharmacy filled a generic brand named Dextroamphet which is generic for Adderall , not Dexedrine family, when I looked it up the generic brand for Dexedrine was Dextroamphetmine whats the difference? ## Hello, Yappi! How are you doing? There is no difference, the doctor or pharmacy just abbreviated the word Dextroamphetamine on the one. :-) It is the correct medication. Learn more Dexedrine details here. The generic for Adderall would actually contain mixed Amphetamine salts, which would be Amphetamine and Dextroamphetamine. Learn more Adderall details here. Is there anything else I can help with?

i take dexedrine for adhd (it works great) but i don't have health insurance and i can't afford it. does anyone know of a prescription assistance program that could get me the medicine free or very cheap? i won't be able to get it this month if i can't find a program that will supply it free. ## Go online to RXrelief.com. You can request a coupon for any drug that most pharmacies accept. Look up the discount offered for your drug on their website. I also, had problems with the cost of Adderall - I researched online to see what generics were available and found one for $40/90 day supply versus $166/month. Had to discuss it with my doctor first, but it worked out well for me. Best of luck! ## I think the suggestion that was already made is likely your best option. Do your ...

I have been on Adderall 30 mg BID for years but can only take the COR generic and in my area all we have is Barr. I had a very bad emotional recation to it. My doctor switched me last month to Ritalin 20mg BID. I feel tired and like I am on Xanax all the time. So now he is going to switch me to Dexedrine. I am so fustrated because my Adderall work perfect. Has anyone been in this situation or can let me know if Dexedrine is more like my adderall then the Ritalin???? ## Did you try asking a pharmacy to order the one manufactured by Core for you? They can usually do so, but your insurance will only pay the cheapest generic price, so if it costs $10 more, then you would have to pay the additional $10. Learn more Adderall details here. switching from dexedrine 5mg to emsam patch 6mg 24 . for severe depression. doctor instructed 8 day washout. anyone did this before eight days long time without med except klonipin ## i assume that a "8 day washout" means not starting the emsam for 8 days after discontinuing the dexedrine. well, if your doctor said to, make sure you do. more to the point, emsam can be a wonderful drug but you really, really have to be careful because it has the potential for serious harm if used with certain pills/food. i've been on the same dose as you (6 mg patch every 24 hours) for 5 years. and the benefits have been tremendous-i spent literally 4 years trying what feels like every drug out there and none worked. but, again, it can be dangerous so avoid certain foods that can be looked up...

found these pills with the power gone out of them in my daughter room just wondering what kind of pill it is it is black and clear with 15mgs written on the black part. ## Based on your description the closest match which I was able to uncover is a 15mg Dexedrine. You can view an image of it Here. If this is what you have then it contains the active ingredient Dextroamphetamine which is known to produce increased wakefulness and focus in association with decreased fatigue and decreased appetite. In other words, it is pharmaceutical grade "speed". Sorry to say this but if the powder is missing from it then it was most likely snorted. Of course I could be completely wrong with the pill ID and my speculations but I hope this information is helpful. Sorry if I am the bearer of bad n...
