This Medication was prescribied to me for narcolepsy. My quality of life has dropped tremendously.I lost 50% of my functions. I have not been awake since this drug was discontinued. I would love to be able to have this medication and get my life back.

Why someone would discontinue a drug that has such a great effect on narcolepsy patients? Many people have overdosed on many dangerous drugs, desoxyn being a methamphetamine the fatality % is 0. Having knowledge of this being a former D.E.A. agent for many years. I among many others consider this a great cure.

Well, first of all, the fatality rate for Methamphetamines is NOT 0%! Many people have died from reactions to them or from abusing them, so you may want to do a little more research there.

Now, as to your saying it was discontinued, are you saying the company did or your doctor did?

Either way, there are several other options on the market that contain the same ingredients and they should be able to help you with your condition.

To whom it may concern: "USA Desoxyn Gradument tablets" were manufactured, by Abbott Labs of
North Chicago, Illinois USA from at least the year 1964, (if not before that) source PDR 1965, Medical Economics Inc, until, the year 1999, "35 years in a row" until Abbott Labs sold the patent, to use the name "Desoxyn" to another USA pharmaceutical firm, called Ovation (pharma) Inc. Four Parkway North, Deerfield MI 60015 USA.

Desoxyn Gradument, a extended release version of methamphetamine hydrochloride was manufactured for at least 35 years in 3 sizes, five mg. 10 mg and 15 mg. dose pills.

NDC # 0074-6941-04 five mg (white)
NDC # 0074-6948-08 ten mg (orange)
NDC # 0074-6959-07 fifteen mg (yellow)

It was also offered from at least 1964 until July of 1973 in USA as a combination tablet of sodium pentobarbital combined with the stimulant methamphetamine HCI in the same doses of 5 mg, 10mg, 15 mg, "the 5 mg was a green capsule with 5 mg methamphetamine with 30 mg of sodium pentobarbital" marketed as DESBUTAL. The 10 mg was a tablet of methamphetamine with 60 mg of sodium pentobarbital. The 15 mg was a tablet with the combination of 90 mg of sodium pentobarbital. Desbutal was withdrawn from USA pharmacy shelves in July 1973 per USA DEA laws banning the combination products of a stimulant with a sedative in one pill or capsule, with the exception of Smith Kline French "Dexamyl" a combo of dextroamphetamine with amobarbital, until SKF, removed "Dexamyl" from production in the year 1982.

"I have personally had a prescription for the first 6 months of year 1973, & I must say with taking ethical pharmaceutical stimulants from 1969 to the present year, that "DESBUTAL" was absolutely the smoothest "dream" product for ADD, ADHD Narcolepsy or Treatment-Resistant Depression, a/k/a Refractory Depression or diet suppression" I have EVER had in my entire life" hands down!!! (The USA BNDD [DEA] fixed that forever).

Since 1999, Ovation had the license to manufacture, "Desoxyn", and Ovation chose to only manufacture, the five mg tablets of pure methamphetamine hydrochloride tabs from 1999 until 2008 NDC # 67385-0102-01 source REDBOOK Pharmacy's Fundamental Reference pg 375 the 113th year of publication by Thomson Reuters Healthcare.

In the year 2010, the license to manufacture methamphetamine hci 5 mg tablets as "Desoxyn" was sold to yet another USA pharmaceutical mfg called, "Lundbeck Inc." ID#67386. Four Parkway North, Suite 200,
Deerfield, Michigan 60015 USA. Source REDBOOK page 122 and page 363. with an Average Wholesale Price in 2010 for 100 tablets of 5 mg of Desoxyn at USA $400.73 NDC # 67386-0102-01 this is the maker of the drug. who may or may not manufacture the drug, (sometimes "farmed out" to a 3rd party USA mfg). Source: Same reference only 114th edt of REDBOOK. for year 2010. IDK Lundbeck has same address as Ovation??

My most recent source (published in February of 2014) - Martindale The Extra Pharmacopoeia, 38th edition London UK lists on page 2325 Volume A that Desoxyn was still being manufactured in the USA for the calendar year 2014. Abbott Labs (who formerly also manufactured methamphetamine Hydrochloride as "Cidrin" in Chile, South America had stopped production before press time, for the Martindale, that lists all proprietary ethical pharmaceuticals in the modern industrialized world. (43 countries) prior to the year 2014.

I do not have any information about calendar year 2018 for USA or outside USA. Truven Analytics, is the most used medical source by pharmaceutical and medical professionals in USA for further research for this decade.

It also could be an "orphan drug" IDK. "orphan drugs" are ethical pharma drugs not usually stocked in USA pharmacies, but are available by special order, if the manufacturer still makes the product. IDK. (for the here and now) Truven Analytics is a fee-based firm. It is not free, (expensive).

On its own, oral use of methamphetamine is pretty impossible to die from overdose without an underlying condition or other stress on the body. Desoxyn is as safe, if not safer, than Adderall. Side effects are so much easier to handle, a lower dose provides a full day of therapeutic effect, whereas adderall requires 3 doses for a less therapeutic and much higher mg that easily is affected by acidity and fats in the stomach, doesn’t cross the blood brain barrier, etc. Desoxyn is by far a better alternative. Don’t point to street use of methamphetamine and say it’s the same thing. There is zero replicated Desoxyn sold on the street. So at best you can find something with 90’s percentage purity, the rest is cut or chemical byproduct from clandestine production. I bet If I made aspirin at home and sold it on the streets there’d be a fatality or two, but don’t compare that to the aspirin on the shelves. Enough already with the hysteria. Read a book.
