Damaged Receptors From Chemo

Long story short I had mega dose chemo (pen inj. & capsules) daily for 365 days. Almost killed me but afterwards when I took the pain med Oxycontin for the very 1st time I did not feel it till I reached unreal 500mg level. Then it was a miracle. Always felt chemo burned out receptors so only get partial dosage. How can I evaluate this? Anyone ever hear of this? In these times I need huge amounts to work for pain & drs not giving anymore. Need help desperately as the pain has bedridden me again. Chris-FL

Have you tried any of the stronger medications, such as Fentanyl?

It's available as a patch that you were for 48 to 72 hours, depending on your pain level and doctor's prescription. It's much stronger than Oxycodone.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Verwon-have tried all meds -Patch no good cannot keep on & it really not as strong as oxycontin-oxycodone too weak since only ir med- oxycontin er med but lasts me usually 6 hrs most. However when I ingest enough to hit me works like absolute miracle pain relief unequaled! Like the pain was never there.....this why need some form verification that my system is not processing all I swallow (must be going out as waste the remainder?). But it undoubtedly feels like I am only getting small percentage that is being used by my body or else I would be dead on such high dose right? How is something like this verified? Swallow dyed capsule then x-ray progress?? Idk anyone with knowledge pls help?
