Is it hard to get off of Cymbalta? I know you cant just cold turkey it ## It depends on how long you have been on it and at what dosage. There will be some withdrawal effects if you stop cold-turkey, the severity will depend on the dosage and length of use. ## I stopped taking cymbalta cold turkey after taking it for over 18 months. I lost my job and could not afford my medication.I thouht I was going to die. Cold sweats, throwing up, panic attacks, crying spells, I thought people where after me, and locked myself in the bath. I do not advise anyone to stopping this medication cold turkey!!! MY DOCTOR SAID I COULD HAVE GONE INTO SEIZURES.

I am talking on behalf of my wife.Her Doctor put her on this drug.She was on it for two or three days.She has been nothing but sick. depression ## I think you mean Cymbalta ## does it work ## Cymbalta contains the active ingredient Duloxetine. Just like any medication, it works wel for some people and there are others who gain no benefit by using it. The only way to find out is by trying it. Has your doctor suggested you use it?

Does Cymbalta work? ## I tried Cymbalta and it worked well for endurance and pain but not so well for depression so I had to go back to Effexor and Wellbutrin. For endurance and pain I take an Ixel or milnacipran every other day (gotten from a British source). It is an antidepressant that is supposed to be equal in enhancing serotonin and norepinephrine.

atypical psychotropic ## I am on zimbalta and it is not helping as much as I need right now. I am trying to find out if you can take ambilify with this b/c on the television it says it has been tested with other AD but not zymbalta ## The correct name of the two drugs you mentioned are Cymbalta and Abilify. There are no medical professionals on this site, so none of us can properly advise you on whether or not it would be safe for you to use these medications. white round pill pliva 433 ## I am not sure what you are referring to with the word Alta, I cannot find anything listed under that name. Pliva 433 contains 50mgs of Trazadone, a generic for Desyrel an antidepressant. I did not find any interactions listed between Trazadone and Cymbalta, but I cannot check for them for your Thyroid caps without knowing, specifically, what kind of medication it is.

Jan 1st, I had a severe drug reaction in Las Vegas, had to go to the ER. The ER doc gave me Ativan IV. Then he sent me home on Ativan 1 mg, I was wondering when the pain would stop, also taking Cymbalta, Celexa, Darvocet, Tramadol, I started taking a half of Ativan 1mg a day, Ativan 1 mg before bedtime with my Cymbalta and I have been sleeping like a baby. It has controlled all my back pain and nerve pain down both legs and in both knee's. I am feeling good enought to take on the world. Try the Ativan with Cymbalta. The Cymbalta which is an antidepressant but show good results with help controlling nerve ending. Cymbalta for me does control my mood swings. When you're sick all the time, you are just not gonna have good days! ## I think Cymbalta is a very helpful drug. I was recently switched from 150 mg wellbutrin to 60 mg cymbalta for depression / anxiety. I am curious to know if anyone has experienced any sexual side effects from cymbalta? ## Hi, This is interesting because I want to get off of Cymbalta. ( I am not diabetic ) I have been on it a year- Before that it was Zoloft. for 2 yrs. I think I want to go on Wellbutrin. Anyway, The Zoloft gave me BAD thick oil on my face and terrible B.O. Also , I only wanted sex every 1-2 months. very hard to climax. So, I went on Cymbalta for a year. My side effects are: I rarely get aroused. Have problems urinating (I just sit on the toilet & think about peeing). I take 1MG of xanax before bed. That seems to help me get in the mood. No more oily face and My B.O. is only from the garlic pills I take. Ha !...

I was prescribed Cymbalta by my doctor for migraines and muscle tension headaches. i want help i know its the cymbalta affecting like this please help ## Well there is really no way to know for sure, it depends on what all you are taking and how much, meds affect people in different ways. Your best bet would be discuss these problems with your doctor. ## I also experience that side effect from all antidepressants I take...last time when I took effexor and remeron for sleep, the dunkness feeling lasted 3-4 weeks and slowly subsided and all I had trouble with was some short term memory; now I am on Cymbalta and remeron and having the same side effect for 2 weeks this time so far....hoping it will also go away soon. ## Helen my doctor told me to start on the lowest dose, she said that her son counts the granuales in the capsules. What happens if I drink wine with Cymbalta? I like my wine. ## Well it really depends on your dosage, your alcohol tolerance, your metabolism and etc. Cymbalta can cause drowsiness in some people and alcohol can intensify that effect. In some meds, alcohol can also affect the absorption rate in your body, making you get too much or too little of the necessary drug. However, as long as you aren't taking huge doses of the drug and getting drunk every day, you will probably not have any severe problems. If you are concerned, speak with your doctor or pharmacist first and they can provide you with more information.

My Dr. would like me to switch from Paxil Cr, which I have been taking for 2 years now to Cymbalta because of the the weight gain side effect I'm having with Paxil. for depression ## I'm looking for contraindications on this drug. A friend of mine is on it and is using alcohol heavily with it. Im concerned the mixture could be extremely dangerous. How can I find info about the drug? ## There are two primary concerns with using alcohol with any kind of antidepressant, including this one. Side effects will go away after a week or so. I take this medication for joint pain and it made me sick in the begining. I started out with 30mg then went to 60mg and now have no side effects at all. ## I was given a RX for 60 mg of cymbalta, but I'm not depressed/ect. I have lupus. Does this seem right? ## Yes, Cymbalta has been shown to be effective in alleviating certain types of nerve pain as well as being an antidepressant. It does not work for everyone though, but you should try it for about 2 weeks or so, then you will see if it helps you at all.

I have been taking Cmbalta for aout a year and have been experienceing a really bad, almost salty taste in my mouth for just about the same length of time. Has anyone out there had this same problem? My dentist says that there is nothing he can find, so I am hoping that someone can help me out. Please also let me know if you have experienced this same effect with other antidepressents. When should I take my Cymbalta, in the morning or the evening? ## I asked the same question of both my doctor and my pharmacist ... you will need to experiment, trying both the a.m. and the p.m. for a week or so and see which best suits you. For myself, I take mine at 5:00 p.m. daily (30 mg) and this seems to be working nicely for me.

Everyone seems to be experiencing problems with this med;does it help with depression and are the side effects worth taking the med? ## I just began Cymbalta after discontinuing EffexorXR. I've not experienced ANY side effects and it's not yet begun working fully yet. I wasn't aware anyone had any problems, but you can bet I'm going to read up on it.
