I have taken small dosage of Alprazolam 0.5 ER in morning and 0.5 regular at bedtime for years. I have always had the generic Dava and it has worked fine. Now the pharmacy is changing to SunPharma. I refused it after reading about some manufacturing shutdowns. I am considering Costco shipping mine since it so much less expensive. They carry Boca generic. Walmart carried Purpac or Actavis. Has anybody ever used any of these and do you find differences in ability to control anxiety. I am elderly and would like comments.

I am taking Alprazolam 0.25 (Dava) my pharmacy is changing generics. Which is the best one? Boca, Actavis, Pure pac?, SunPharm? Each pharmacy has different ones. I have never taken any of these manufacturer's brands. I would appreciate feedback. I may change pharmacies. They seem to get the cheapest ones they can. I am particularly interested in comments about Boca because I can get it so much less expensive at Costco by mail. I am elderly and thank you for your advice and comments.

I am taking 0.25 alprazolam and have been for years...the same generic-Dava. My pharmacy is carrying Sun Pharma now and I am not comfortable changing. But, I have checked and can get Boca brand at a mail order pharmacy much cheaper. I am also interested in finding out about Pure Pac, Actavis and Mylan. I am going to have to make a decision soon. Thanks for your replies and comments.

Hi, Annie! How are you?

I understand your concerns, but what it really comes down to is what works for you. While one person may have a bad experience by finding the one from a certain manufacturer ineffective, that same one may work great for someone else. Everyone is different and so is the way our bodies respond to medications.

If you feel you can get one shipped via Costco that would work better for you, then that is what you should do. You know your body and what works for you much better than anyone else ever will.

Does anyone have any recommendations to offer?

I can tell u Boca and Sun Pharma are garbage. Their 2mg alprazolam isn't even close to some of the other brands I've has. Especially boca. The round ones that say bp 633 on one side are absolute trash. Go with smaller privately owned pharmacies. They carry better quality medication. Anyone who says "it's all the same. It doesn't matter which manufacturer makes it" is an i*****. Quality control is different everywhere.

Re: joanie (# 7)

I had the same problem but seems like Sandoz is the best for me. They just switched me to actavis and I am having headaches, allergy like symptoms, like I'm going through withdrawals. Going to just go to a pharmacy that has Sandoz brand, (CVS) and pay for it without using my insurance because they no longer are a provider for my insurance. They also told me that there is a difference and some people can't handle certain brands. Anyone know the inactive ingredients in Actavis brand and Sandoz brand Alprazolam?

Actavis is by far the best generic out there. Walgreens carries them all the time.

I've been taking Alprazolam since 1994 and I'm 49 now. I've been many generics after the brand. Nothing it's like the brand so far the closest is greenstone. The only one that hasn't tried is the activist. Now Mylan no good. Boca no good. They just change the green stone At CVS into Dava. The Dava is not as efficient as green stone. But it's not bad but for me I have Tourette syndrome so that's how I can detect the differences and any medication. But it depends on your issue and how much quantity quality you need concerning your medical issue. So there you go on the list of those I can't remember the other generics is long time ago.
