I would like to know 18 mg of Concerta is like, compared to other ADHD medication. I used to take Adderall 20mg xr, but that was about 6 years ago. I have struggled through out these past years not realizing it was because I stopped treatment. I've heard some things about Concerta, but I'm not sure if it will benefit me the same as the Adderall did for me in the past. Any advice would be appriciated!

Chalet , the only way to know if a particular drug will benefit you is to try it. Talk to your doctor. If your doctor will prescribe Concerta and it does not work well. Hopefully he will prescribe Adderall.

BL is correct, we are all different and no one can possibly know how any medication will affect any given person that tries it. We can tell you that it could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia, irritability, mood swings, and anorexia.... but, again, those are only possible issues.

Just as an example, both my husband and I had issues taking Singulair for breathing/allergy issues, but his mom has taken it without a problem for many years.

Not everyone experiences all of them, some people don't experience any of them, and some may experience really odd side effects.

Are you on any other medications?
