Coming Off Of 10 Mg Of Abilify

I'm taking 10 mg of abilify and have been for 2 years- I would like to come off-think it's an ok decision as things are stable in my life - just not sure how to do it ..I'm also worried about the effects of this drug

The best thing to do would be to consult your doctor, so they can help you set up a proper tapering schedule.

If you just suddenly stop taking it, without tapering, it may cause some withdrawal effects, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, fever, chills, diarrhea, rebound depression and rebound anxiety.

I've been taking 10mg of Abilify for about three years. It's combined with lexapro. I've had enough of it as I feel I don't need it anymore. I've been learning how to deal with things in other ways. I have a tremendous amout of support from my famiy and talk about things that are bothering me. Wih that being said, three weeks ago I stopped cold turkey. I actually feel good. Some withdrawls symptoms were annoying. Such as an uncomfortable upset stomach. However, not really bad. I took some Mylantha and he helped. Also, an annoying headache that was controlled with some motrin. The other symptons that I read about didn't happen to me. I'm changing my diet, keeping hydrated, keeping busy. So far so good. Hope this helps anyone reading this. Keep me posted.
