Coming Off Invega Sustenna (Page 2)

Hi,

I was given Invega Sustenna at 100mg a month for 10 months since Dec 5th. My last shot was on August 29th 2013.

The medication gave me severe anhedonia and I have lost the motivation and willpower to do anything. I can no longer experience joy, happiness, or pleasure from anything I do and I have no interest in doing anything. I constantly feel restless and uneasy and I just can't shake this feeling away no matter what. All of these started about a week after my first IV.

I have been off this medication for almost 3 months now and I have yet to feel any improvements. I have read that it has a long half life of 25-49 days and that it can stay in your body for 300 days. So does that mean I will have to wait a year to start feeling better?

Any info on someone who has been off this med would be greatly appreiciated. I am interested to learn how many months it takes to feel better after invega sustenna.

This drug is strait from the nazi death / experimental camps it shoud never be used

Hi, it takes 6-8 months after your last shot to become back to normal.

Thanx eduord, im like you. I was forced this poison on me by mental health nz while I was withdrawing off zopiclone sleeping pills. Im not psychotic. I had 5 shots of invega before they realized that no libido, no buzz of nicotine, alcohol, cannabis or anything. Does the recovery slowly come on or fast? I had my last shot 3 months ago. I dont know how they can market such s***. Any way thanx again.

Hi all. My question is, has anyone lost weight while on or after quitting this drug? My experience was not horrible on this drug but i was worrying after reading some cases (i don't know if it's fake or not) that some people have not healed even after quitting this drug. I took 100mg for one year and at 100mg i used to have anhedonia, sexual dysfunction and weight gain. But after my dosage decreased to 50mg all anhedonia effects and sexual dysfunctions went away. I'm a really happy and healthy person now, but i couldn't lose any weight since it was decreased to 50 mg.

Invega zombie or any other females who have taken invega sustenna, did you get your period back? I lost my period, have anhedonia no interest in anything! I had two shots, that is the initial dose and stopped taking any meds. It's been 5 months now since I stopped invega. If anyone has experienced similar effects please posts with updates.

It's been 6 months off invega for me and I still cant feel any euphoria from alcohol or marijuana - no emotions. How long did it take you?

Hi guys, so happy I found this thread. I was treated for psychosis/schizophrenia for 14 years, and took an invega shot maybe about 8 times until March this year, i.e. month 4 of withdrawal for me. Feeling optimistic but often feel cold, lonely, flat mood. Didn't quit tobacco yet but that's imminent. Back for a shrink chat next August, looking forward to becoming sociable again, moving on. Had to drop almost everyone from my life these years but I am worth it and I wish them well. Alcohol and music help this week but solo boozing should leave. Feel so lucky to have my eyes opened like this, my fears are baseless. My problems are petty, details like finances and survivor guilt. Freedom or death :)

Hello! I gained twenty pounds when I went on Invega Sustenna! I got to a point that I could not stand myself and so I took extreme measures and started on a restricted 1000 calorie diet. I walked for two hours five days a week. In 3 months, I lost 18.4 lbs! It is possible to lose weight. Now I am going off of the drug altogether. It has been one month since my last shot. Looking forward to getting my life back!

Did you have any withdrawal effects? You mentioned that it has been five months since your last shot. It has been one month since my last shot and I am so afraid of withdrawal symptoms! Anybody who has NOT gone on another anti-psychotic, please let me know how it was with the withdrawal effects?

It has been three years since your last inj. How are you doing? Did you have any withdrawal symptoms when you went off the inj.? How is life now? Did you get your period back? Do you have a passion for life again? Did you come back to yourself again? Would really appreciate your feedback!

Did your prolactin levels normalised? I want to know as I'm trying diets but nothing works due to the high levels of prolactin in my bloodstream.

I haven't had my prolactin levels checked. What I think works is total consistency with reduced calorie intake and exercise. It worked for me when I was still on a higher dose of the medication. I have not had my prolactin levels checked, but I am assuming they have not changed because I only stopped the shot one month ago.
