Coming Off Invega Sustenna (Page 17)

Updated

Hi,

I was given Invega Sustenna at 100mg a month for 10 months since Dec 5th. My last shot was on August 29th 2013.

The medication gave me severe anhedonia and I have lost the motivation and willpower to do anything. I can no longer experience joy, happiness, or pleasure from anything I do and I have no interest in doing anything. I constantly feel restless and uneasy and I just can't shake this feeling away no matter what. All of these started about a week after my first IV.

I have been off this medication for almost 3 months now and I have yet to feel any improvements. I have read that it has a long half life of 25-49 days and that it can stay in your body for 300 days. So does that mean I will have to wait a year to start feeling better?

Any info on someone who has been off this med would be greatly appreiciated. I am interested to learn how many months it takes to feel better after invega sustenna.

Thank you

Re: a concern parent (# 308) Expand Referenced Message

Just a update on my daughter she's been off the invega sustenna injection going on 7 months she went from 256mg-117mg before she went cold Turkey, yet and still she not herself she still has her psychosis, still hearing voices speaking back to them some voices are aggressive to her others are nice, a lot of morning she doesn't eat much or drink much fluids and this really worries me, she will paste the floor all day and all night without sleeping talking herself a lot of nights she's not sleeping I give here 5-htp to help calm her racing thoughts and St. Johns wort to keep her in a positive state of mind, I don't recommend anyone going cold turkey telling you from experience the withdrawls are no joke

Re: Carly (# 305) Expand Referenced Message

The same thing happened to me. My social media account, email and computer were hacked and I was told I was delusional which I am not. I was put on Invega for six months with a depot shot of 150mls and now I am on the 3mg tablets. Suffering anhedonia and akathisia badly. This is a bad drug.

Re: Joanne (# 323) Expand Referenced Message

I know they treated me detained me for three months i lost my job cause i was locked up and i gained 15kg. I came out of hospital with no clothing that fits no job and homeless. Still to this day i believe my technology had spyware on it. The treatment has never changed my mind. I was not dillusional. Their diagnosis and family intervention for anxiety has not made me better it has put me in poverty and made me homeless im staying at a friends. I was anxious and had a panic attack my mum amd dad thought they were doing the best thing but they put me in the abyss of hell. Those injections are poison.

I tried to break paliperidone into parts to reduce my dose and it was the wrong thing to do it made me faint and threw me to the ground violently injuring both my knees and my foot. Apparently it is absorbed in the small intestine and not the large when you do this and drops your blood pressure dramatically.

Re: Joanne (# 320) Expand Referenced Message

hi joanne, I'm a concerned parent of a twenty year young lady which is my daughter whom was on invega sustenna it really messed her brain up and now shes dealing with psychosis hearing voices and just not quit herself anymore, and she did go off cold turkey and the withdraw symptoms is a living hell to deal with so whatever you do DO NOT go off cold turkey work with your dr. and have him switch you to the tablets and wing you off from there .my daughters going on 8 months of being off Invega and every day I have to give her St johns Wort and 5-htp to keep her calm and in a decent state of mind ,A nutritional is important any foods that supports the brain like broccoli, brussle sprouts, green leafy foods, making sure your drinking lots of water ,and staying away from any surgery foods or junk food, stay away from caffeine ,drugs ,alcohol etc...and exercise if you can and a all natural vitamin may be good .for my daughter listening to her music calms her, going for a car ride as well.

Re: Joanne (# 327) Expand Referenced Message

Your welcome. I just started my daughter on a new gummy supplement called Calm you take 4 throughout the day they kinda take place of the 5-htp but they work great with the St. John wort. 5-htp is a weight loss tblets as well so you dont want to use is for a long period of time if your not trying to lose weight plus she takes protein shakes called premier to help her gain her weight back,i really believe my daughter's memory is slowly coming back and she becoming more coherent when I speak to her which is a blessing I've been through so much with her but never again I'll trust these pyhchtrist they love keeping us stupid to the reality of these drugs there issuing out its really messed up what people will do for a dollar cause that's what its really about but never again and I will spread my experience to whoever I can so your so welcome

Re: Verwon (# 1) Expand Referenced Message

I only took the initial loading dose 154mg... After months...Still you will feel the effects but it won't bother you....on the 4th month mark...you will not even care about counting the months or days...Within 6 months of quitting, you will feel like the old you again...100% it gets better with time..... There will be 100% recovery!

Hi, I was off invega sustenna for 17 months, no improvement and then I went to the hospital for delist. I’ve problems they put me back on invega sustenna, now I been on meds for 4 months. I don’t see how it’s helping me, no one doctors or my family doesn’t listen to me.. Just cause I look ok on the outside appearance wise doesn’t mean that there’s nothing wrong with me. It’s been 2 years, 2 years ago I was given 4 injections I never recovered. My life is living hell.. I don’t even feel alive anymore it seems I have no blood in my veins every time I go for blood test they have difficulty getting the blood also I don’t feel my heartbeat anymore, it’s like I’m dead and stuck in some after life situation .. is there anyone I can speak to?

Re: Sandh (# 339) Expand Referenced Message

Hi sandh, what symptoms are you dealing with? There's a website called healthline that talks about different bipolar disorders. There are several different disorders that are like schizophrenia but slightly different. Maybe you could be being diagnosed for the wrong thing? This website talks about psychomotor agitation disorder, cycle mania disorder, & hypomania disorder. And these have some symptoms of schizophrenia but slightly different and need to be treated differently.
