Younus, Sitagliptin and Metformin are both oral antidiabetic medications that are used to help lower and control blood sugar and yes, they may cause side effects, other than the headache, you may also experience nausea, stomach pain and flatulence.

Klnreddy, you should continue to take it, as long as you doctor instructs you to do so. There is no cure for Diabetes, but it can be controlled through the use of diet, exercise and medications.

The maximum daily dose should not exceed 2,550mgs a day of the regular release or 2,000mgs of the controlled release.
