Clorixan Information
UpdatedI purchased clorixan 200 ml in Mexico for cold sores. I take one pill as soon as I feel a sore developing. It has worked so well that I would like to keep them on hand. What exactly is clorixan?

Clorixan contains Acyclovir, it is an antiviral that is commonly used to treat most herpes simplex viruses, both genital, and oral, which is why it works so well. I take it myself, twice a day, every day, as a preventative, because one of the medications I am on can cause horrible cold sore outbreaks, which landed me in the ER several times, with several swelling in and around my mouth.
The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, diarrhea, taste disturbance and drowsiness.
It is available in the U.S. by prescription, so you might want to speak to your doctor about prescribing it for you.
Are you on any other medications?
