Clonazepam Where Do I Find Qualitest Now?

Updated

What pharmacies carry Qualitest clonazepam anymore? I used to pick up my scripts for it from Target, prior to it being bought by CVS. Since, I have not had another generic that compared to these- they were even superior to the Roche brand name Klonopin. I have been using the Teva generic that CVS offers and am so glad that Walgreens is out of my life for good as a pharmacy due to their Mylan-only contract concerning their clonazepam. I am satisfied with Teva but have yet to find a pharmacy that carries my preferred Qualitest. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Sorry to hear about your situation Lazaro. From the looks of things, many other patients throughout this forum are facing similar challenges with getting a certain manufacturer's brand or generic version. In my experience, the best approach is to simply have your prescribing doctor specify a manufacturer's name on the script itself. This way the pharmacist will have to order it if they don't have it in stock at that moment and you won't be subjected to any other inferior products. Every pharmacy is different though, and this is my way of ensuring that no matter which pharmacy you go to you'll get whichever manufacturer's product the doctor recommends.

Re: David (# 1) Expand Referenced Message

I've done that at a few pharmacies. WalMart used to be able to order ANY generic requested.. it was like a care-free world when it came to medicine. CVS will order my specific generic for another medicine but once I asked them if they could order my Qualitest and he laughed at me! Thank you for your reply David. Happy New Years!

I know that Qualitest no longer makes clonzopham you mentioned another generic I've never heard of. Do they compare as good as the other? I hate teva 1mg. What pharmacy are you finding this at? Thank you and God bless.

Re: Roxanne56 (# 4) Expand Referenced Message

Hi Roxanne, from what I have read Solco bought Qualitest and from looking at the ingredients online they are exactly the same. I go to CVS in Michigan. They are the only ones that carry the Solco. On my bottle it said Solco but when I look it up the v 2530 on Google it says Qualitest. So it's Qualitest but name changed to Solco. It's been a godsend for me. I was on Teva for eight months and had really bad side effects and then last month they had the Solco and it's night and day. No more hell for me. Everyone reacts differently though. Hope it works out for you.

Qualitest was bought by par pharmaceuticals par has multiple manufacturing plants but qualitest was located in alabama..... thus call the pharmacy and ask for par brand made in the former qualitest plant in alabama... if you know color & makings add them to your description when asking pharmacy.... par bought qualitest about 2 years ago but par for sure has a new new york plant as well....i still get a dif qualitest product sometimes it marked parr but mostly marked qualitest...... use the phone & call around.... you can try. calling alabama but dont know if they will give you any info... but may say if they still make it......... happy hunting i hope you find it.... be well.

Re: Roxanne56 (# 4) Expand Referenced Message

The Solco Pharma is Qualitest pills. I believe its nationwide that CVS says they cant get the TEVA's they have used for years on years are on backorder or so the rumour is that's why they have Solco now which worries me until I opened it and recognized the blue pill stylized V 2531 1mg clonazepam because a mom and pop had it once at a pharm near the psych at the time. And I quite frankly like them better than the TEVA's and any other brand I've tried over the years.

Re: Roxanne56 (# 11) Expand Referenced Message

I'm happy to of helped. I am so grateful I have found the Solco brand. I was also on Activis and it had no effect and I did not want to switch to Northstar, Accord and especially not back to Teva (Hell No !!! All you Teva lovers can have that ish). Thank God there is at least one brand that is not junk in my body's opinion!

Re: Ben (# 12) Expand Referenced Message

Same here, got the solco. The company is from China, which sounded like bad news till I opened it and sure enough it's Qualitest. Unfortunately Solco only bought Clonazepam. I wish so bad that they would have bought Zolpidem from PAR who will not make it because they have some kinda deal with there Zolpidem ER. They for some reason do not want to make quick release. I get Winthrop Zolpidem ER which are basically name brand Ambien CR. Even says ZCR on the pill. So yes the Clonazepam is Qualitest from SOLCO and much better than TEVA. My Teva Diazepam suck as well. Got those because everyone bragged about them. They do not come close to Watson/Actavis. So as far as I'm concerned, mylan, northstar, accord, aurobindo, teva and glenmark are junk. Sandoz are pretty good. Par, Solco, Qaulitest, winthrop, Actavis/watson, greenstone (not the ones made in india) are all top generics who really can't go wrong on. I also want to add that some name brands that cost a fortune are very overrated. For the most part you can find a good generic for every med aside from 5 & 10 mg Zolpidem being the only exception till they maybe bring back the Qualitest kind (if ever). I wish I could get Gador Somit from Argentina.

I have taken clonazepam Teva brand for many years. It works great for me, I got Activas brand 1 mg this month, it seems very weak, anyone else not like activas? I have taken other Activas meds and they were good.

So, here in North Central Florida, Walgreens always carried Mylan, Publix and Walmart Northstar, CVS I think Accord or something (not great). The best avaliable has been Teva, and only from WinnDixie. Enter May of this year...Mylän was pulled from the market due to lack of efficacy issues, and Teva was all the sudden backorderd . I got a mix of Teva and Qualitest (I get 120 a month) from Winn Dixie, and in several different batches. This happened 2-3 months in a row. Needless to say, it freaked me out a little bit.

Anyway, long story short, bc I literally had a bottle of half Teva and half Qualitest, I truly got to compare the two. For me, it was altogether obvious that the Qualitest were indeed superior to the Teva brand, for both anxiety and sleep. How exciting, right? Only my next fill was back to all Teva. Meh.

Here's the good news, tho-here in FL, it would seem that Walgreens has replaced their revoked Mylan (1mg's) with Qualitest. They are the blue ones w/the cursive "V". Just thought I'd let others know in case they can, too, easily obtain this once elusive brand from such a prolific chain. (I used to take Ambien, and the only generic that worked was Qualitest-but it was increasingly impossible to hunt down-so I'm thrilled this small company seems to have gotten a better distributor).

Wandered in here through google, this seems to be the main discussion for Qualitest/Solco Clonazepam. And I can see why it's being openly discussed, Walgreens recently did a double-switch from Accord to Qualitest.

Here's what I've gathered, I live in the city and made a few calls: CVS used to carry Teva but they've switched to Accord and I just called them, they currently have Actavis. So they did the same thing Walgreens did, but they went to a different brand.

Walgreens carried Mylan for years, which is why I avoided them. Then switched to Accord last month and now they're carrying Solco/Qualitest.

My favorite was Teva 0.5 (1mg were not as effective) but they've since been impossible to find as of like, three months ago maybe. Accord worked for me, they kicked in really fast but did not last the full 8 hours as with Teva. I picked up a script today from Walgreens, its the Solco/Qualitest V-imprints. Just took 2mg (0.5 x 4) and it seems to be working, but it took a while to start. Which is good because that usually means it should last a full 8 hours. I can confirm that they are in fact working.

What happened after I left Walgreens is, I didnt check the bottle until I was out the door but when I read the label it said Solco. No idea who that is but I looked at the pill and instantly recognized it as a Qualitest because of the V imprint. From what I've gathered over the years, they've always had a good reputation but I was never able to find them.

I do not recommend Actavis, myself and somebody else used them a few years back and they did absolutely nothing. This may have changed, it may not have, but it's not worth the grief imho. Mylan from what I've read, they were useless and there was a significant recall about two or three years ago. Probably off the market now.

Good luck, stay happy and keep the discussion going, the more information the better!

Re: Roro (# 6) Expand Referenced Message

When Par (parent company ENDO Pharmaceuticals) acquired Qualitest they decided to take it off the market. They recently sold the rights to the Qualitest clonazepam to Solco and it is now sold under the Solco name but it is the same drug with the same inactive ingredients.

I just got a script of Clonazepam made by Qualitest Pharma from Walgreens today. I am so sorry it had to be Walgreens seeing as the hell you went thru, but it might be worth a check. Good luck!!! :)

I'm still using the Solco/Qualitest brand, still works. I did stop into CVS the other day, they're carrying TEVA again for the 1mg and something else for 0.5, can't remember which brand but it's worth calling to see what they're up to.

Where did you find Solco Clonazepam? I have serious issues using any other brand and I can't find a pharmacy anywhere. I was going to one that special ordered it for me. Then Rite Aid bought them and everyone else got my pills. I'm angry and don't feel well.

Hello, and my heart feels for you. I have been paying out of pocket for my 2 anti seizure Rxs (was 3) for over 20 years. I'm not familiar with the generic you mentioned. But was a faithful Teva brand user in both my meds, until they first quit making gabapentin, then clonazepam.
In the gaba, I have been taking Cipla brand in capsule form no problem.
With clonazepam, I'd already been at death's door sick with two other generics, so ordered the recommend Actavis. Has been fine for me.
My prayer is you can find it and you have the same results. NOTE: I much preferred Teva for the flat, compact shape and green color. The Actavis tends to dissolve in my mouth before I can swallow it, the green was much easier ro see in my pill box.

Re: Roxanne56 (# 11) Expand Referenced Message

Qualitest brand is now called Solco and is still marked with a cursive V. I find them to work well and prefer them now since Teva no longer makes clonazepam and the Activas brand supposedly old teva don't work for me.

Hannaford's Pharmacy (a division of Hannaford Supermarkets) carry Qualitest Clonazepam at least in the New England area. I agree, they are the best I've ever encountered. Good luck!

Re: Roxanne56 (# 4) Expand Referenced Message

That's not true. My pharmacy which formerly dispensed Actavis Clonazepam which btw, I was far more happy with, has switched to Qualitest. I just received a prescription for it and thus far am not too happy with it. I'd inform the OP as to its availability, however I get my script filled at a small independent pharmacy in San Francisco.

Forgot to add: I dont think mylan clonazepam is on the market anymore. Too many complaints, company recalls, and if I recall the fda finally caught wind and issued several warnings.

Walgreens carries qualitest, aka solco. I've been using them for about six months now, no problems but CVS started carrying teva again so I'll be switching back.

It's now called Solco generic. I guess this company bought Qualitest. In my experience they are the best generic right now for Clonazepam.
