Clonazepam Ingredients Mylan Brand Vs Teva Vs Accord (Page 9)

Updated

Please help with this, i have taken the mylan brand for several years, when the pharmacy could no longer order it they ordered Teva, it immediately gave me pains that seemed to be in my chest....kind of the opposite of what it's supposed to do. So with Mylan being available though only two pharmacies, someone mentioned accord...but what is the difference of fillers. could you simply list all the ingredients for all three brands so if Accord matches Mylan i'm ok?

Re: Rob (# 151) Expand Referenced Message

Unfortunately I don’t know. It was over 15 years ago, and with what I went through, never entered my mind I would ever even consider going back on benzo’s. So I don’t know and I’ve tried to find out a couple times. What is curious is you ain’t going to be needing to go off this again soon. I’m going to research it and see what I can find out. They were just other kind of meds, different classifications and combinations of things.

Hi Eric. Apparently, from what I hear and from what seems to be occurring with pharmacies that I've been calling around my area, from big chain store pharmacies to small mom and pop type pharmacies. It appears both Teva and Mylan have been discontinued by the manufacturing companies. Teva has been bought out by another company, and either the same has happened with Mylan or the manufacturer has simply decided to discontinue making clonazepam.

From what I'm getting from calling different pharmacies, and I've called just about every one I can find within a 15 mile radius, most companies are now buying Accord Healthcare generic clonazepam. Actavis is also around. I know there are quite a few more generic clonazepam makers available too. I used to always get Teva. It worked great with me. On a few occasions I got Mylan which was also okay with me, although I preferred Teva. There are still people on this forum claiming to be getting Teva or Mylan still. A few months ago they gave me a few Tevas, but the rest Accord. The reason is because some pharmacies may still have back stock of Teva or Mylan. That's why some people are still getting those. But once those stocks run out, they will begin to purchase other generic brand clonazepam. And many are now getting Accord.

Many people have mentioned their dissatisfaction with Accord. Some here and there have said they like it. Some even say that's the brand that seems to work best with them. I have taken both Accord and Sandoz. Both feel a little different. But both seem to get the job done as well, although I still prefer the old Tevas. I don't seem to feel the classic come - on effects when the medication should be kicking in. Both Accord and Sandoz feel weaker, watered down, as if they're not as potent as they should be (I take the 2mg. tablets). But I think you're just going to take a chance with one of the other generic brands that will now be available. And since everyone seems to react differently to even each generic brand, it's difficult to predict which one, or if any other will work well with you. But, as far as me, every generic brand has done its job and worked at least decently, although I do have my preferences. As of now I think the Sandoz brand has been the one I prefer. Wish you the best of luck. And hopefully you quickly find another generic brand that works well with you.

There are no other generics available. It’s either Actavis,Solco/Sandoz or Accord. That’s it, pick your poison

Re: Sam (# 8) Expand Referenced Message

Do NOT take clonazepam by Accord! There is no comparison! Actavis or Teva (now the same company) is the only one that is consistent. I was switched from Teva to Accord. OMG the worst. I checked online and, OMG read all the comments from how BAD Accord is! And, it's made in CHINA. I've talked to Costco and, though they had switched to Accord, they are ordering my clonazepam from Actavis as they too have had a zillion complaints. Accord is the worst & does NOT work!!

Re: J (# 165) Expand Referenced Message

I have no problem with Accord or Solco. I like it better then Teva which I took for for two years and was scared to change. I first changed from two years on on Teva @ .5mgs to Actavis. Actavis is terrible and knocked me out within 30 of taking it. I would wake up after 8+ hours sleep on it and was still tired. I also got paranoid around people even to the point of avoiding people and places. That took place for two weeks and finally said screw this and took some leftover Mylans I had for about two weeks and while I didn’t have the panic attacks and slept ok, I was depressed and didn’t do much but sleep eat and workout. I then got tired of that on started on Accord that I had from Walmart. It doesn’t knock me out but allows me to sleep and doesn’t make me depressed or groggy the next day. It actually feels the most controlled throughout the day than any I’ve klonopin I’ve ever used ,even when comparing it to brand name I took on the past. The day before yesterday I got my new prescription filled at CVS and they gave me Solco brand which is just rebranded Qualitest. They make to go to sleep faster then Accord, Teva but not Mylan and leaves me pretty level the next day until the next dose.
My ratings:
1)Accord
2)Solco
3)Teva - Mainly cause it didn’t help with sleep and gave me constipation and stomach problems. I still have 5 bottles of these
4)Klonopin brand name- stomach problems, depressed and knocked out feeling
5)Par brand ODT- orally disentigrating tablets- because you have to take 3 times your normal dose

All of these ratings are on a single 0.5 mg taken at bedtime each night. There maybe differences between different higher doses then I take and there maybe quality control issues with Accord I’m not aware of. This is my experience with one bottle of Accord.

Well, that makes a lot of sense to me about Activis putting you to sleep. I recently got switched to it after TEVA stopped manufacturing clonazepam, and I have thought I was developing narcolepsy! Never occurred to me it could be the Activis, since it is so ineffective as an anxiety medication. Before Activis they gave me Accord, which I find ok, but somewhat weaker than Teva, which has always been most effective for me. Dr increased my dose by 1 mg per day, because I thought I would be getting Accord from now on. However, CVS filled this new scrip with Activis brand. Even with the extra 1 mg dose per day, I have frequent anxiety attacks - something I never experienced with Teva.

Recently someone here posted that Teva still manufactures sublingual clonazepam wafers. Checked with my pharmacy (CVS), and they confirmed this, but said Dr would have to write new scrip specifying 'Teva clonazepam ODT', and they would order it for me. I pick it up tomorrow.

Funny how the different generics affect us all differently. Pharmacies and doctors will generally try and tell you that the FDA mandates there be no difference between generics of a particular medicine. Fortunately for me when I moved recently and got a new doctor, he affirmed my suspicion that the generics are definitely NOT all the same, and my pharmacist also know this, and will special order any brand available if your Dr so orders. Many pharmacies will not honor a 'dispense as written' prescription for generic brands, but my local CVS is very accommodating.

Re: ArlisT (# 168) Expand Referenced Message

Yeah Actavis is bad stuff, like I said it's the worst imo. I have a feeling that CVS will be using Solco for the next while because I called the day before my actual script was filled and they said they only had 8 Solcos that day and that they would be getting a truck in the next morning. The next day I went there and yes the truck had came in and it was Solco brand for the .5 mg, maybe different brand for higher mg and may also be different for the part of the country you live.

As far as the ODT, Par and Teva/Barr are the only companies that make them and only Par is currently sells the .5 mg version. I thought they were really weak but could be a good thing depending on your use. If you're taking klonopin during the daytime then this will be good for you as it wont make you tired but I take klonopin at night to help sleep. It took triple the amount of the ODTs to get the effect that one tablet could do. My friend tried the 1mg ODT from Teva like you're getting and he said they were very similar to regular Teva pills but decided the next month to switch back to pills. He takes 2-1mgs a day along with an antidepressant so your experience may differ.

Re: ArlisT (# 168) Expand Referenced Message
I just wanted to check back in and report that I was able to get the TEVA dissolving wafers, and they are every bit as effective for me as the tablets were before TEVA bought ACTIVIS and stopped making them. So, crisis averted, at least for as long as TEVA continues making these. Ask your doctor for TEVA Orally Dissolving Tablets. I feel I should have been offered these as an alternative when the TEVA tablet were discontinued, instead of just switching me without warning to another brand, but neither my doctor or pharmacist had ever heard of them.

Let it be a lesson: your dr doesn't know *everything*. Some things you have to find out for yourself.

Re: Pam (# 170) Expand Referenced Message

The Accords I have are pretty good if not the best. I think they have may have quality control issues. Im currently taking Brand Name and they suck. Not only are they $3-4 a pill but make me more depressed and help less with anxiety like then brands like Accord, Solco and Actavis. If I had to rate the generics I would rate them best to worst in that order. The brand name also give my stomach and gi tract a fit. I have to eat some 30 minutes after taking them cause they burn my stomach and cause terrible constipation. I would urge people to think of weaning themselves off klonopin and on to maybe ativan or valium.

Re: ArlisT (# 171) Expand Referenced Message

I believe i'm one of that 1st mention the orally dissolving tablets to people on another forum. There are currently three manufactures of the oral tabs (SunPharma, Par Pharma and Teva). The ones you say are identical to the old Teva pills are actually made by Barr pharmacuticals which Teva bought out. The problem with the Barr/Teva is the .05 version which I take have been backordered forever with no date on when they would be back in stock again so all you can get at that dose is Par brand and I have 3 boxes of them. They are no where near pill strength and leave your system too quick because they are not broken down by your stomach. If you take klonopin at night for sleep then you'll wake up about 4 hours after taking them. If you're into that then so be it. I had a friend who tried the Barr/Teva in the 1 mg version and he said he didn't like them as well as Actavis pill which I can't stand. The copay on the ODT are usually higher too. So while im glad you found something that might work for you they might not be the solution for everyone. Also I thought the oral pills were great the 2 days until I guess the pills version was still im system. After the pill rid my system and the oral version was all that was in my system that's when the effectiveness stopped. Not sure if you just started them or not but you might run into this yourself. Best wishes

Hi, my name is Diana and my RX is blue 1 mg 3 times a day from Accord. I think the blue works better than the green. You just have to try all of them. Accord works best for me.

I couldn’t imagine take Klonopin 3 times a day especially at that strength. I take it you don’t work or leave the house much?

Re: Iheartklonopin (# 169) Expand Referenced Message
According to the TEVA rep I spoke to, they are going to be bringing back the regualr tablets, hopefuly by te end of July. If they do, I will be switching back to them. These dissolving tablets work for me, but I think maybe they aren't as long lasting, even though when I had the regular pills I dissolved them under my tongue, too. Also, I find the ODTs cloyingly sweet.

Re: ArlisT (# 176) Expand Referenced Message

Of course they don't work as long ... they don't go through your liver and stomach to get broken down, they bypass the GI Tract and go directly into your bloodstream via tongue. It has faster onset but leaves sooner.

As far as if Teva will bring it back, I doubt it. I believe they're blowing yall smoke to keep you quiet. My guess is at the end of July they will say its coming at the end of Aug..etc etc

Teva was the best brand kpin that I was ever on. I’m now on accord and it’s ok but doesn’t hold back the heart racing and doesn’t help me sleep, Mylan sucked. That was the general consensus
