Clonazepam Ingredients Mylan Brand Vs Teva Vs Accord (Page 8)

Updated

Please help with this, i have taken the mylan brand for several years, when the pharmacy could no longer order it they ordered Teva, it immediately gave me pains that seemed to be in my chest....kind of the opposite of what it's supposed to do. So with Mylan being available though only two pharmacies, someone mentioned accord...but what is the difference of fillers. could you simply list all the ingredients for all three brands so if Accord matches Mylan i'm ok?

What difference does it make? Teva branded Clonazepam pills are no longer made.

Re: Sam (# 8) Expand Referenced Message

I like the accord better than the teva personally, it mitigates the anxiety and panic symptoms for me but doesn't heavily sedate me. I do, however, get rebound anxiety right at the 24 hr mark that is different from the rebound anxiety I experience from the Teva. I prefer the accord because when I take teva I get extremely agitated while I'm on it. The accord I don't, I honestly don't even really notice it working.. like i don't feel high or groggy or that extreme relaxation you get from teva, but that's a good thing IMO. The purpose of the meds isn't to get f****d up, it's to mitigate anxiety to a manageable level. I notice the accord works all day and leaves my anxiety at a level I can cope with without going into fits of rage when it wears off. A lot of people don't feel f****d up and think "oh this medication isn't working", and those are generally people who don't actually have anxiety and are the reason it's hard for people with real panic and anxiety disorders to get the meds they need.

Re: Barbie 616 (# 20) Expand Referenced Message

My Walmart here in South Texas gave me Accord Healthcare this last time I picked up my prescription. But through the outside of the orange bottle, it looked just like the Teva brand. I take 2mg tablets of Teva normally. But when I got home and looked at them closely, which I always do to make sure they give me the right medication, I noticed the different letter and number imprints. I checked on a pill identifier app, and it turned out to be Accord Healthcare, which got me really upset because I knew there was a chance it would not work well with me. Sure enough, it turned out to be more like a placebo. Well, the pharmacist at Walmart told me that on my next refill I can call about 5 days before I run out and request that they specifically order the 2mg Clonazepam Teva brand for me and they'll do it. I don't know about up north. But the Walmarts down here will do that.

Re: Rowdy green (# 142) Expand Referenced Message

Rowdy green, you are absolutely 100% correct IMO. I couldn't have put it better. You took the words right out of my mouth. 4 days ago I was given 2 mg. clonazepam Accord Healthcare brand. When I picked up my clonazepam, from the outside of the orange bottle, the tablets looked just like the Teva brand ones. But when I got home and opened the bottle and looked at them carefully, they had a different letter and number imprint on them. I found out it was the Accord Healthcare generic clonazepam brand. When I took my first tablet, it seemed like a placebo pill. I really didn't feel much of anything the way clonazepam normally would make me feel. However, my withdrawal symptoms were completely gone by the second day. Obviously it had clonazepam and had as close to 2mgs. of it, or 2mgs., what it's supposed to have. Pretty much absolutely no sedation, warm fuzzy feeling, or euphoria at all. Yet my anxiety and withdrawal symptoms were completely gone. I believe this Accord Healthcare generic brand of clonazepam has very little, if any, addictive qualities, which is great. However, I'm sure when I run out of them, if I don't pick up a refill of them, I will probably surely get the same horrible withdrawal symptoms one gets from other clonazepam brands, brand name or generic.

Re: Carolann (# 144) Expand Referenced Message

Unfortunately Mylan did in fact discontinue Clonazepam and Ativan as of June 2018. Whatever is left will be short lived unfortunately. I’ve called and contacted them on numerous occasions to ask them to please consider reversing their decision. I was told that they are discontinuing 1/3 of their current products.

Re: Openminded (# 146) Expand Referenced Message

Glad to hear it worked out for you as well it's definitely a superior medication from my perspective. The anxiety will definitely come back if you stop taking it but keep in mind that's the case with any medication. In a few days you will start to feel the medication working better but wont have terrible withdrawals like with some of the other medications.

I have been on Clonazepem for 8 yrs now and was on it for 10 yrs in the nineties - until I sold my Company and had the time to go away to a hard core Detox center - and it was the worst detox of anyone in there including meth heads, heroin addicts. The worst was days 25-45... but was great for next 5 yrs till my wife almost died - and went back on and also got into a new business with my retirement on the line. That's been hard - so back on them...

Was on mylan for a few years till i had to switch pharmacies and they put me on a Accord - that did not even work! I was having full blown panic mania - so my Doc switched me to Teva and it was miraculous! Was very potent - more so IMHO than the Mylan - and if you read all the blog,s the general overwhelming consensus is the Teva is the best generic by far. Now Teva bought Actavis and stopped making their Clonazepam. So they put me on Actavis, and while not as Horrific as Accord - was not good as i was in constant anxiety attacks, shortness of breath - etc.

Don't know why you had chest issues w Teva as it is as good (better per general consensus) as Mylan. Teva said if enough people call and complain they may put their version back on the market (Call 888-838-2872). My Doc just ordered the Teva 1 mg Dissolvable Wafers WHICH ARE STILL BEING MADE BY TEVA - I hope they work like the 3 x 1mg tablets I am on until i can get back to Detox and go thru hell again. It's a sin that my original Psychiatrist who put me on Xanax - never told me that these Benzo's were addictive - in fact, they are THE MOST ADDICTIVE SUBSTANCE on the planet!!

Anyone, if you can stay away - don't get started on them - use all the Natural crap (Valerian, 5HTP, Gaba, Kava etc) and Exercise every Morn - 20-30 mins on the Elliptical, getting your heart racing - is like taking a handful of Valium without the fog! And meditation-mindfulness free apps for phone along w diaphragmatic breathing, the MOST powerful way to take you out of your Sympathetic (Flight/Fight) nervous system!!

Anyway- just sharing a 20 yr user of these Benzo's and brands and sharing some learnings. I hope it helps someone. Jonathan

Re: RockerJ (# 147) Expand Referenced Message

Now I understand that Mylan no longer makes clonazepam, nor does Actavis. Found some at a CVS not close to me and had them put my name on it for the next month's supply. Any suggestions what I should do next? Been through withdrawal with the switch to Accord and don't want to go through that ever again! What are we supposed to do? Go to Thailand to get our meds? India? Canada? Big Pharma certainly is getting their job done to get rid of all the generics. I read that benzos are the worse addictive drugs in the world - well, gee whiz, I don't take them for fun! I take them so I can function without shaking from head to toe and calling the EMTS. Anxiety is nothing you can just blow away. Help, please!

I think you meant to say that Teva is no longer made not Actavis. Actavis is still manufactured but sucks

Re: Jonathan (# 149) Expand Referenced Message

Well Jonathan, we may all be in a pickle because Clonazepam is no longer on the Medicare formulary and rated QL - quantities limited - so we can only get a month's supply at a time - and no more than 90 tabs. I need 120 to operate on Actavis, and now they aren't making them anymore - so here we go again. I like your alternative, but may not work for me. We're up against the wall again.

Re: Sylvia (# 152) Expand Referenced Message

Oh my god! I am in the same boat I am on 3, 1 mg. a day and have been for like 25 years. All these different colored ones are making me ill. I took teva for a long time. Last month I had blue something. This month I have light yellow ones and I really don't feel very well and don't know what to do. Feel like dying really. wtf. The only way to make the anxiety go away for me is to drink wine, which I haven't in 15 years. I do not know what to do. My dr can't do anything. It is the companies that are doing this to me and it is allowed here in the united states. The way things are going in the United States, I don't even want to be here anymore, I need to find another medication or something else very soon. I can not go on this way.

Re: kathielee (# 155) Expand Referenced Message

Yes, the powers that be think they are helping humanity by eliminating low-cost generics to get rid of the opioid crisis, but that drives us in the other direction - alcohol. Who do they think they are kidding???? For those of us who need clonazepam to function as normal human beings - not as drug seekers - they really have us between a rock and a hard place. There are many manufacturers of clonazepam listed if Googled, but how in the world do we get to all of them. I guess finding an independent pharmacy is one way, but I called one and they didn't return my call. Guess the news about Clonazepam being the "drug of choice" has them all scared and as soon as you say the word, they tune us out. If I have to go through withdrawal again as I did from Teva to Accord, I don't know how I'll survive.

The accord is a good brand in my opinion. I took teva for a really long time then when I got the accord it changed my life for the better. The accord did take some adjustment but I find it to be much less intense but last through the day I don't get all aggravated when it wears off. I only take a MG/day but it works just be patient.

Re: Sylvia (# 154) Expand Referenced Message

They are making Actavis. I just got it. I took Teva for years, then Teva bought Actavis and stopped making Clonazepam tablets. Now they sell the Actavis at my local CVS. In between, I had the Accord. I've heard many people say it's no good, but I found it to be ok. Not as strong as the Teva, but since the Teva was no longer available I resolved to get used to it. My doctor increased my prescription to 1 mg 3x daily to make up for its relative weakness compared to Teva. This last time I went for my refill though, CVS gave me Actavis, which I have to say is very underwhelming. If they are going to be changing brands on my month to month how am I to have an informed discussion with my doctor about how much I should be taking?

Someone said Teva is still manufacturing the 1 mg dissolving wafers. I have to check into that and see if I can get on them. I always dissolved the tabs under my tongue anyway. Changing brands month to month is no way to treat a mental disorder. It's like they are playing Russian Roulette with my brain.

Re: Connie (# 63) Expand Referenced Message

Connie. Hi. Totally with you nothing compares to the generic Teva 1 mg I’ve been on this benzo’s twice now 10 years during the 90s and now eight years since 2010 I’ve been panicking over DeVer stopping manufacturing as I tried to activists in the cord and I was coming out of my skin the first day no comparison. Just from reading these blogs I found the Teaver still makes the 1 mg clonazepam wafer so I just talk to my psychiatrist he said it will work the same so I just got them but haven’t tried them during the day yet I’m about to over the weekend here it’s the same manufacture assuming everything will be the same I’ll let you know!
