Accord Clonazepam (Page 3)

Updated

These are horrible, Accord Clonazepam. I'll be glad when I get my new script and can go back to TEVA.

Wow! I've had Clonazepam not turn up before but i agree this is bad stuff... I'm having lots of stomach problems since i started the Accord two weeks ago. It must do something but i think I'm in wd as i feel bad all the time now.

The main reason I think there's some Benzo but weaker is I'm on three a day and if I cold turkeyed on 3mg after 20 years I'd be way worse. I wish I did know what's going on. I heard Actavis is gonna be the new brand from Teva but its not out til mid month. I just hope its better. I wish I could just get off the meds but I know its not safe to discontinue it unless you taper. I really don't know what to do....Sure I can file a complaint but it probably won't do much good. I'm really pissed Teva discontinued their Clonazepam. It was good and had little side effects. It's all about money and making it cheaper I'm sure. I'm totally fed up.

Re: John (# 42) Expand Referenced Message

Hi John - the Accord is reacting differently BETWEEN PILLS for heaven's sake. One night I can't sleep worth a darn and last night, for example, I fell into bed like a rock and didn't wake up until 9:25 this morning and my right foot was completely numb. Scared me into a near panic attack until I figured out I must have been lying in one position all night. I'm afraid to take one this morning because I have to drive this afternoon and I don't know what the effect will be. Guess I'll take a half of .5 and see what happens. And the more I think about the changes from Teva, the worse the anxiety gets. Talked to a CVS pharmacist this a.m.; he said he has taken all different brands and none have side effects for him. He is on Accord 1mg per day (night) and if he has to work the next day he takes .5mg. So obviously any brand gives him a "hangover". Doesn't do any good to talk to the pharmacist about the change; they take whatever their warehouse sends them. Going to check with my Dr. to see if I can go back to Klonopin or taper off. Thanks to all who contribute to this chat.

I have been using Teva .50 for years. They are no longer available for me in NY. I have tried Accord which makes me suicidal. Sandi nothing. Got the disintegrating Teva tablets and it makes me feel like I'm not in my body. When can I get my Teva .50 back? Does anyone know what's going in?

Re: Grace (# 44) Expand Referenced Message

Hey Grace, I'm sorry you're feeling that way. I'm feeling bad and depressed on the Accord brand too. I used Teva over 20 yrs. I contacted Teva and was informed they will no longer carry Teva clonazepam at all. I hate it as well. You should call there customer service and complain. They told me mid June they will be going with Actavis brand. I have no clue how it will work but the Accord is terrible. I have a drs appt wed and am going to show him or at least tell him about the results people are having. I have also had nausea, ringing ears, congestion, dry mouth as well as extremely depressed. Teva gave me no side effects at all.

Re: John (# 33) Expand Referenced Message

Well, John, my first reply said I was going to wait a couple of weeks and see what happens. Didn't make it. Started with the headaches, nausea, then dizziness so bad I had to use a cane to get into clinic for a routine test. Then came the involuntary leg movement, insomnia, clenching of toes on my right foot, then both legs and arms tingling - thought I was having strokes. Debated about calling 911 on Saturday night, but called God instead and of course I got an answer - purse. Then I remembered I had some "old" Teva brand in my purse - very few, but enough to get me through tonight. Have tried to call my psy four times; no return call. Have called pharmacies - Cub Foods who said they had some 1mg Teva, which I can split; my close-by Walgreens has Mylan. The Accord tablets sent me into withdrawal; - as one person on this thread said - no Benzos in the Accord. That would be like going into withdrawal - sudden termination of meds. Hope someone calls me soon.

Re: Sylvia (# 46) Expand Referenced Message

I don't feel totally in withdrawal but I don't feel good either. You would think with this many complaints that someone would take notice. Is Mylan any good Sylvia? I hope you feel better soon.

Re: John (# 47) Expand Referenced Message

I haven't taken Mylan for a number of years, but it was okay back then. If my doc gets that prescription to me I'll use it. It HAS to be better than Accord for me.

How does it compare with Teva? I'm curious if anyone has taken the Actavis brand? Thanks for your response. I appreciate it. I may try Mylan. I don't want any drug made in China.

Is anyone experiencing bad headaches with Accord? My head feels like there's so much pressure in it.

Re: John (# 50) Expand Referenced Message

Hi John - just wanted you to know that yesterday I was desperate - no return calls from anyone, had run out of everything but Accord, prayed that I would get an answer, called my PCP, who had been filled in about my withdrawal symptoms. I had found a few in my purse and tapered off the Teva. The nurse caught her as she was going out the door - end of day - filled her in quickly on my symptoms and that I was out of Teva. Dr. A got on the phone with me and said, "take two Accord - (my regular prescription w/ Teva) and if you need more, take another half a pill. Did you hear me?" - "Yes, I heard you." - "Okay, I'll repeat...." So I followed her orders, not knowing if I'd be alive in the morning because I was so scared. Woke up this morning, wondering if I would be dizzy - no dizziness, no nausea, no headache. I had slept all night. Feel 100%. Dr. A had said that I had gone through the worst of the withdrawal and I should start over with the Accord. It worked! Took my morning pill with my breakfast and I'm still okay. I think this is going to be a very good day. Yesterday morning I had taken the remaining 1/2 of a .5mg Teva, so I must have tapered off/weaned off the Teva and am going to have a fresh start. Whew! Scary stuff, but if you have a really great doctor that knows you well, tell him/her the story and see what Dr. says. Still have not heard a word from the Psy's office - do they care? Thanks for your kind words and encouragement, John, and all the others who have recounted their experiences.

I can't believe it. It took over six months to get used to ACCORD and now Walgreen's supplied picked a real cheap generic clonazepam by SOL DOL which look a lot like Sandoz which led me to the ER. I am about out of ACCORD. Look out if you get used to ACCORD and then pharmacies stop carrying it. These generics are all different. Now ACCORD works but it took forever to get used to it. DARN DARN DARN.

Re: Mylan Bestie (# 52) Expand Referenced Message

Hello Mylan Bestie- I had to go to the ER yesterday - didn't sleep the night before, have been having side effects with Accord. Asked them to check my urine for Benzo - results were negative, which means there is no ingredient in Accord to help us relax, which is the purpose of clonazepam. No wonder I'm wired. The Accord is useless. Looked at my information sheet from CVS and Accord is made in India. ER doctor insisted I call my psy, set up an appointment to get the meds changed or I will continue to have problems. I thought I was doing okay - not so. See my June 13 message to John. Another person said she had had her urine checked three times - two times on Accord and no Benzo either time. Hope the Actavis comes out soon.

Re: Mylan Bestie (# 52) Expand Referenced Message

Yes just got the Sol dol brand by request. They bought Qualitest. I know they dissolve quickly so I take them sublingually. I've been on clonzapham for 20+ yrs. Maybe it's just a question of tolerance but I know I liked the Qualitest brand best 1mg. 3x a day. However, I think it's time to consider getting the brand name. My insurance will pay but requires prior authorization. No problem. I have lots of data. I thought maybe it's just me but I read all these other threads. Generics really are becoming worse by the day. God bless

I just wanted to follow up on the Accord switch for the people having problems. So for twenty years I took Teva. It worked great but did seem to lose its effectiveness due to being on the drug so long but it was my preferred choice. Anyhow....In late May I was prescribed Accord and physically I felt bad on the generic. I was actually able to cut back a .5 many days because I didnt like it at all and felt more out of it..During this time was told after calling the Teva co. they were discontinuing Teva clonazepam. Well a few days ago I go to get my new refill and they had Teva clonazepam the exact same pill as before. The first day on the drug was fine and actually the first dose I felt a wave or relief but the second and third days it seemed I was withdrawing from the accord. I felt sick to stomach had rapid heart palpitations and head pressure. I also now have a really strange taste in my mouth. The Accord seemed to really mess with my sinuses and now that Im switched back to Teva those problems have lessened but I feel more anxiety than I did before the switch. Trust me I know it spunds crazy but flip flopping on generics isnt good is my point. I was fine on Teva and now seems I may have to readjust again like I did with Accord. I wanted to follow up and let those looking for teva know I dont know how or whats up but I was able to obtain some through my pharmacy. Who knows how the rest of the month will go or if I will be back to Accord next month. I just need to stick to one. I dont like the flip flopping. I hope this helps someone.

Re: John (# 49) Expand Referenced Message

Okay, I'm back from the dead, after withdrawal, after Xanax, after two stents placed last Monday, and today I called CVS and was told they now have Actavis. After some last minute phone calls and an override by my CVS manager, I got a prescription from my doctor for about two weeks' worth, with a refill ability if they work. So now I start the rest of the adventure and I hope I find something soon. Will keep you posted as to how the Actavis works for me.

I take 1mg x 3 of generic klonopin and I find I always break the bill in half and wait about 45mins to 1hr, then if needed I take the other half, now at the end of the month I have 30 plus pills left , were I was always running out 5 days early before my refill was due, boy I'm happy now, I couldn't get my Dr to increase it for 4yrs and I'm also on opana for pain, which my phamcany called me and said they stopped making them , but name brand and insurance won't cover it. I been on pain meds and Xanax or klonopin for 35yrs, I never seen this bad were in some states you can't even stuff for pain or panic attacks, they say go to meetings, I don't have a drinking problem , these people that are dying are abusing the medications, I been taking it for 35yrs and I'm not dead or hooked, if I'm not hurting, I don't take a pain pill or if I'm not having panic feelings, I take less or none, that's why I had 35 pills left, I love my Dr, I can't move to another state because of this, it's all because no Dr will give you 300mg morphine, plus 90 pills 30mg oxycodone and 90 1mg klonopin a month, when I travel out of state for 4 months, my phamcany just mail them to me, I'm very grateful, you won't get this from Walgreen or any other chain phamcany

I like Accord and Teva is fine too, but I like Accord better, I also have sondoz, which I'm still not sure about, but I break my 1mg pills in half and wait to see if I need more and with accord I had 40 pills left at the of 30 days, it's take as needed and when I took the whole pill 1mg, I never made the whole month, I was always 5 days short. Now with Teva I don't know yet, I just got them and I just started doing this after 5 yrs, I hope it helps someone, I know it has changed me and the way I feel is night n day, I'm a lot more happier.
