Does Cialis Cause Mood Swings (Page 5)

Updated

I'd just like to know if anybody else has any experience of seeming to be more irritable and emotional during the time that they are getting the effects from Cialis?

I have taken it and I did experience some uncharacteristic mood swings. I have had a similar experience with Sildenafil as well. So now, I prefer not to take either. I felt a bit weird from any prolonged use of either one.

Cialis makes me grumpier than normal. I find that it coincides in the early hours after taking it, along with flushing and mild headache, then wears off after 4-6 hours. I adjusted by taking it in the morning, which works out because I'm already irritated at work, and I'm in a much better mood at home at night. I also noticed that it "works better" several hours after taking it, which coincides with the flushing/headache/grumpiness wearing out. If I go without for a few days, I am more easy going and cheerful 2.5-5mg.

My x husband of 3 years also took cialis and became very moody, irritable and abusive, aggressive, and occasionally tearful. This lead to our divorce. My nerves were always on edge, never knowing what would upset him. It was horrible. I mentioned my concerns to him asking him to stop taking cialis, and he agreed for a while and started back. His mood was better when he stopped taking it. I later mentioned to my attorney who was also Male, and caused a major upset and bias behavior. The end.

My boyfriend and I have had the most volotile relationship with the most unpredictable and unexplainable mood swings. I’ve felt as though I’ve had to walk on eggshells about raising any question I g about anything. I’ve always had a hunch that he was taking something, for some reason I thought it was a testosterone supplement because his rage and anger was like nothing I have ever experienced. After about three years of this, I finally have found out he has been hiding his prescription for cialis. He swore he’s only filled it twice, but then upon further questioning found out he has been taking it regularly for the last three years. I’m unsure if he was hiding it because he has been cheating, or for embarrassment. And he’ll take it right before work which is odd
To me, because it kicks in within 30 minutes and will last for upto 48 hours... and I’m not with him for the first 9. His rage, and outbursts and name calling and insults are like nothing I’ve ever experienced. Extremely hurtful, abusive. And since finding out that he has been on cialis I’m wondering if that is now the culprit. I’ve mentioned this to him and he thinks that I’m the reason for his outbursts, and he swears he hates me and then the next day is back in love with me. It’s such a RollerCoaster that is destroying us. Now we have trust issue because of the lying or secrecy about such a thing(which he says is none of my business), and the insults and verbal and physical abuse is making me more insecure. I’m just unsure how to address this.

Both men that I know who have taken it have had total mood swings filled with anger and aggression who were normally very nice. Turned them into different people once they changed medication they went back to being their kind selves! I work in medical field and saw this alot with this specific medication

Male in my twenties.
Cialis Pro's : rock hard meat sword
Cialis Con's : SIGNIFICANT HIGHTENED ANXIETY, mood swings and lack of motivation.

It's almost like after taking the pill your forget how to have social interactions with people.
After reading this forum I am so glad to find out I was not the only one experiencing these problems.

After using Cialis once to twice a week for about 3 years now I think the cons outweigh the pros.
During these 3 years I've learnt to fight off the mood swing but you're always on the backfoot socially when you are on Cialis.

I'm going to stop taking Cialis and search for natural remedies for ED ( test boosters, jelqing and edging).
These natural remedies use up more time but I think its worth it considering the gains you make socially and productively by not being on Cialis.

Re: Brian (# 17) Expand Referenced Message

I've been using Ciali off and on since 2014. I habe experienced the similiar side effects. Irrtability quick to anger and obsessive clinginess mentioned in the thread. I've started and stopped the medication many times and there's definitely a correlation between the mood swings, the anger and taking this medication. It is often difficult while on the medication to control your thought and actions when tbe irritability begins. I even contacted the makers of Cialis to report the side effect. But let's face it, this drug makes billions of dollars. There's no way there's going to be a warning label put on this medication indicating it causes anger and possible violent actions.Years ago I saw threads like this one. Thousands of men experiencing what we are experiencing, then the conversations just disappeared from Google. I'm glad to see this issue being discussed again There is an issue with this medication causing irritability and anger. It is not imagined.

Holy crap, I’m so relieved to see this thread. I thought I was a lunatic for almost 2 days. I take the daily 5mg but asked for a supplemental 10mg for….well you know what for…but I ended up angry and hair-trigger tempered- I’m 56 and almost got into two fights! I’m just lucky I didn’t do any irreparable harm, the 10mg went right in the toilet.

Re: Marie (# 84) Expand Referenced Message

Wow sounds SOOO familiar. At least my guy has not gotten violent (yet) but matches what you are describing to a "T". I hope things have gotten better for you, but I know the feeling that if you even make a suggestion you are the problem, not them! Best of luck
