Changing Nordette Time

Updated

I normally take my nordette pill around 7am but want to change it to 8am because at 7am I'm still on my way to work. Will this affect me badly? Will it increase my chances of pregnancy? I was planning on waiting a week before having intercourse when I have started at 8am just so they get used to my system. Please help urgently.

No, you can do that without a problem. You've got a window of about 12 hours, before it would even be considered a late pill and 24 hours, before it's considered actually missing one.

The only thing that might happen is you may experience a little spotting, but that's very doubtful with just a one hour difference and there is no need to abstain for a week, when you do this. The reason they tell you to always take it at the same time is to help keep you in the habit of taking it, to lessen the chance of your forgetting and missing tablets, as well as to prevent the possible spotting that may occur if you take one or more of them late and it throws your hormonal balance slightly off.

The FDA lists the other typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, PMS-sympomts and weight changes.

Is there anything else I can help with?

Hello.. I have been taking Nordette (28) for about three, currently on my fourth month. I'm one week away from my next period, but I want to change my pill time form 23:00 to 20:00. Any advice on when should I change and any side effects I am to face?

I however don't want to do it before the current pack ends, I can't have withdrawal bleeding before my period. Your help will be appreciated.
