What are the side affect of citapin xr where as my blood sugar level is normal but my doctor said take regularly morning & evening 1000 mg

Cetapin contains the active ingredient Metformin, it is an oral antidiabetic medication that's used to help lower and control blood sugar.

Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, flatulence and hypoglycemia.

can i take cetapin -xr1000 half tablet?will itbe equivalent of cetapin-xr500?simolarly can i take zoryl-2 half tablet to make it equivalent of zoryl-1,if needed?as i m taking some treatment which cause fall in sugar llevel/
