I've been on celexa for about two weeks and now my Dr wants me to start on trazadone. Are these two a safe combination? ## Hello, Jeff! How are you? Both of these medications create the risk of increasing serotonin levels, which does create the risk of your developing serotonin syndrome, which can be fatal. Thus, you should precisely follow your doctor's prescribing instructions and make sure to attend all appointments they request. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

I take both meds 1 time a day. I have been on this medicine for two years. Will this show up on my urine test? ## Just for accurate information, ambien, like Lunesta and the "newer" now quite often used Sleeping Aids, ambien to help you fall asleep, as sonota (only thing I may do wrong is spelling... but not info) The three latest most prescribed sleeping meds for insomnia, Lunesta claims to keep you asleep, once asleep, but unfortunately of the three, none of them KEEP me asleep. They once had very good sleep drugs for insomnia but they were abused, as is ambien and are any drugs people like or double up on not getting the results told they'd get. It's very hard functioning when you can't sleep. The better sleeping drugs were benzos, but these are not benzos. And wi...

Can anything happen taking both? ## Hello, Dee! How are you? I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between these two medications, but it's always best to double check to be sure. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Belviq as possibly including headache, dizziness, fatigue, nausea and headache. Celexa may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

I took 20 of pred this am and I take celexa.. I have a horrible headache and need to take something for it.. Can i take nyquil or excedrine migrane or advil or something? its really a pounder.. thanks ## Hello, Tami! How are you feeling? I'm sorry about the headache. If your doctor approves, the best thing to take is Tylenol/Acetaminophen, as most others can cause interactions with your other medications. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Acetaminophen as possibly including nausea, dizziness and headache. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am 29 and I have a girlfriend whom I am committed and attracted to. She turns me on and yes she does get me aroused in every sense of the word but my man parts just don't stay hard long enough to even switch positions. I take Celexa, Tramadol and Clonazepam for various reasons but I think it is the Tramadol having this side effect because if I go off of it for a day I get a crazy sex drive. How else can I solve this problem? It doesn't help that I have to use a condom either but safe is safe.

I went to the pain clinic I have been going to almost 4 years. I am not understanding for the first time in a little over a year, they have not seen me or even treated me. well, the pa got a urine test, which I couldn't pee but maybe a drop or two. well, now she comes in to see me and demands a mouth swab test to be done. I admit I have taken 2 lasix waterpills for retaining water. well, my one or two drops urine have came up negative for anything. On the other hand, I take the weight lose pill liposene every morning. I take seroquel 800 mg at bedtime, my celexa 40 mg at bedtime and recently, I was given hydrocodone 5/300 mg tablets every six hours or as needed. I have been prescribed a pro air inhaler, and a pulmicort flexhaler powder steroid inhaler. I have also been using cherrat...

I would like to know if anyone has had problems taking Baclofen and celexa together, I I am on 60 milligrams of Baclofen a day due to a back surgery. I just started Celexor 1 week ago 20 milligrams, and I am not sleeping well. ## Hello, Rhonda! How are you? Actually, it is most likely just due to starting the Celexa. SSRI antidepressants are well known to cause sleep disturbances for about the first 4 to 5 weeks of taking them, while your body is getting used to the medication. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight gain. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been on 20mg of Celexa for 5 weeks now. I have noticed little difference. I have to take ativan to get through the day! When can I expect to feel better? ## It usually only takes 4 to 5 weeks to reach its full level of efficacy in your body. If there's been no improvement, then it may not be the right medication to help you and you may need to try something else. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings and weight changes. Have you tried any others? ## Today makes 6 weeks on the Celexa. Not much difference. I have been on many other things, SSRIs, SNRIs, anti psychotics, bi polar meds. I've been on pretty much everything. I have OCD, major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety...

I was dx bipolar in 2002. I was in bad shape...hospitalized nine times within a year. The Dr had me so messed up on meds, I was a zombie. Absolutely no quality of life. I rather be a little manic rather than a zombie. After four years of psych meds I stopped everything. It was no way to live. I also have fibromyalgia. Now the only psych med I take is Celexa and I've not had any major bipolar issues. I take Methadone, Morphine Instant Relief three times a day, along with Soma twice a day for muscle cramps. Those keep my fibromyalgia at bay....for the most part. My fear is the bipolar will rear it's ugly head one-day and I'll be right back in that bad place. I'm always waiting for the bottom to fall out. It's cause me to be anxious.I'm just hoping and praying it wo...

My sister has symptoms from some drug she was on. Her hands and feet have very dry, deep cracks in them. She is been treated for high blood pressure and is allergic to sulpha. The drugs have been changed a few times. In January she was taking Olmetec and this is when the symptoms starting showing up in February. The doctor has prescribed Celexa to help calm her stress level in hope of lowering the blood pressure. She takes imovane for sleeping. Olmetec has talc, could these be causing her symptoms on the feet and hands? Or could it be something in shampoos or conditioners? ## If she is taking Olmetec plus (contains water pill), I found out the hard way, the water pill has a sulpha component. ## Hello, Brenalee! How are you and your sister? Contrary to what was already posted, Olmetec do...

I have been on celexa since June for gad and depression. First 10 mgs, felt good for a few days, then 20 for two weeks began to feel better for more days, but still not 100 percent. Now on 40 mgs and still do not feel good for two weeks. In the past I have taken Lexapro and zoloft which worked for a few years then stopped working. They both kicked in within 10 days of takingI cannot take Effexor as it raises my blood pressure. I am thinking this maynot be working. I am scared ## Hello, Jessica! How are you doing? How long have you been taking the current dose? It usually takes 3 to 5 weeks for this medication to reach its full level of efficacy in your body, so you may just have to give it more time. Good Morning, I started on 10mg Celexa (Citalopram) at the end of May 2015. Two weeks into the medication I had sever nausea. I could not keep anything down. This has been non stop to this day and Doc wouldn't prescribe me nausea medicine. 4 weeks into Celexa and I had my first anxiety attack. I have only had one once before in my life before I started antidepressants. A few days later another attack would occur that kept me from leaving the house on my birthday. I have trouble falling asleep now and I constantly feel weak and faint. I went back to my Doctor for a check up and he insisted I try 20mg and then also prescribed me .5 Xanax. I tried the 20mg for a few days, but the side effects were too intense. I cut back to 10mg for a week and now I have decided to wean myself off of C...

I found a small peachy colored pill with only a C on one side and smooth on the other. It is not scored. Does anyone know what it is? ## It a 10 mg. anti depressant pill called celexa. It takes 2 to 4 weeks to build up in your system after the usual 1st time dosage for light weighted ppl. Your physician can dispense this up to a maximum dosage of 40 mgs daily which I've been taking for 2 years now and it works great, the only side effect is that you should try it at night 1st as for most ppl it will make you drowsy, however after awhile you might be able to build up a tolerability to take it in the morning..If a small dosage doesn't work for you, make sure that you tell your physician bc he can increase the dosage in intervals up to 40 mgs daily allowed by the FDA..I hope this hel...

I just went up on celexa to 35 mg from 30mg will I have side effects again ## Hello, Bibby! How are you? Yes, you may experience some side effects from raising the dosage. The FDA classifies this medication as an SSRI antidepressant and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, weight gain, dry mouth and mood swings. However, with such a small dosage change, they will most likely be mild and transient. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have sinus congestion & allergies.. I also take Celexa. Will this combination of meds hurt me? ## Hello, Kathie! How are you? What is the specific name of the Alka-Seltzer that you want to take? There is nothing listed under this. The reason I'm asking is because if it contains Dextromethorphan, then you shouldn't take it with the Celexa, unless your doctor approves. Both Dextromethorphan and Celexa can raise serotonin levels, building up too much can cause serotonin syndrome, which may be fatal. The FDA classifies Celexa as an SSRI antidepressant. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings and weight gain.

been on Celexa now for 2 1/2 months I have a cold any suggestions on what medicines I can take and which ones I want to stay away from ## Hello, David! How are you? I'm sorry, but when it comes to possible interactions, there are far too many for me to be able to list them all for you. What cold remedy do you usually use? That would narrow down the list, so I can check for possible problems for you. The FDA classifies Celexa as an SSRI antidepressant and lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings and weight changes.

I've been on celexa for roughly about 3-4 weeks, I've been talking a little in my sleep and I'm very jumpy. I've also been having vivid nightmares. I take 20mg in the morning.. I'm kinda worried about the jumpiness I get scared so easily! Someone can walk up behind me and I can know their behind me (most of the time) turn around and still get scared! ## Hello, Gale! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problems that you're having. SSRI antidepressants, such as Celexa, are listed by the FDA as being known to cause REM onset latency, which explains the odd sleep issues. It can also cause some anxiety for awhile, while your body is getting used to the medication. The good news is that such side effects are usually transient and tend to go away anywhere between ...

Cam celexa (citalopram 40mg) cause slurred speech? ## Hello, Dianne! How are you? It shouldn't, unless its far too high of a dose for the person, or they are having a bad reaction to it. I'd suggest the person experiencing such see their doctor immediately to get too the root of the problem. Slurred speech could be the sign of a serious medication condition, such as a stroke. The typical side effects for Celexa, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, weight changes and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with?
