Can You Take Benzos While You're On Suboxone? (Page 2)

I've been seeing a lot of posts regarding taking benzos while on Suboxone. It is ok to take a benzo w/ suboxone - as long as you're taking the prescribed dosages you'll be fine. Now if you're taking 3 or 4 8mgs of Suboxone and say 5 or 6 Xanax that's not good, that's where the reported deaths have come from. I've been on Subs for 5 yrs. I've also been subscribed klonopin and am currently taking valium w/ it and it's fine. I'm on a low dose and only take what I am prescribed.

i just wanna know who ur doc is, I have anxiety attacks and panic disorder but since i take (1) 2mg of suboxone a day tclean 3 years now with suboxone only)They refuse to prescribe me anything, so back to the the streets to buy what should be being prescribed! its retarded..

Lol "subscribed"? You are obviously no med expert due to your lack of correct vocabulary. I just read a post from you on another site asking about the valiume script you got from your doc by "forgetting" to mention to him that you being "subscribed" subs from another doc. I hate reading posts from people who are basicly asking "is it safe to get high on these drugs combined". You didnt forget to tell your doc about the subs dude you just wanted a benzo script to boost your subs. By the way most patients get thier anxiety meds and subs from the same doc, which in most cases low mg seraquel or high mg buspar is prescribed. You are one of those looking for a loophole in my program type of people. I see people in groups all the time nodding off on thier prescribed klonopin and subs valiume and subs ativan and subs they all do the same thing, get you high. Might as well stop fooling yourself.

i tottally agree...this is a place for questions and answeres...it doesnt say u have to b a doctor...its for ppls experiance and otha ppl shareing what their drs have said...i take suboxone (24mg)a day and also i take 3mg of xanax at night..uve never had a problem and i have a heart condition called S.V.T....

My doctor that prescribes the subs told my If I take my clonazepam he cannot give me carries, benzos are more addictive and dangerous than opiates. Combining opiates and benzos does have a chance of death.

1st of all u can't shoot benzos. They r not "water sol." Hospitals have liquid forms of it. That's the only way to shoot benzos. U can inject subutex. U cannot inject soboxone. Bottom. Line is that no of us are doctors, and if there is a gourmet where u have to ask. this question its probably dangerous

DONT go cold turkey!!! Its pure hell. I have tried it and after 7 days I ended up in the hospital complety dehydrated, and the whole week I was badly sick. If you cant wien urself off of them then talk to ur dr. about suboxone

Um you wouldnt need fn suboxon if it wasnt for docters..they dont know s*** but how miuch money there getting..look at it this way..the Drs that go to a specail class to write subs are told its only for 4-6 months no more..but u cant make money if your patients leave after 4-6 months liek this guy..5 years on a 4-6 month treatment..look online and see what people taking these meds say..Drs suck and dont giva sheet..

im about to start taking suboxone 8 mg. but i am prescribed xanex right now, do i need to stop taking my xanex to start the detox 24-48 hrs aswell as the roxie 30 mg., i know thaht i have to stop the roxi's 24-48 hhrs in advance to taking the sub. but does anyone know if i need to stop the xanex, plz respond with correct and good info.. thanks

I am a medical assistant and I work at a medical facility that deals with alcoholics, addicts and the mentally disabled.. I know for a fact that it is not safe to mix narcotics and Benzos. And the fact that you would even try to mention what is and is not safe... being that you are not a professional is not a very bright thing. Not a good thing to give advice about something like that, I don't care if you have been on narcotics your whole life, doesnt make you pill smart.

I have been on suboxone for 2 years. I used to abuse any pain killer I could get my paws on. Give them up you wont suffer w/d if you work with a doctor I tried cold turkey twice got so sick I slept for days. I have bone spurs in my spine & disk degenative disease suboxone helps my pain. Good luck

I have been taking opiates for three years and just took my last ones last night at 9 and this morning took my first suboxone and I am doing great! I was taking anywhere from 150-200 mg a day of roxi or Percocet! I have a way to go but know I can make it now:) I have normally had three doses by this time and am feeling good so far! Go get some ASAP! They work!

Emily if u are addicted to painkillers Suboxone is a MIRACLE. Lots of debate about how long to stay on it but I'm a lifer. After 3 years my dose of Suboxone has gone nothing but DOWN. As soon as I quit the Subs I'm back on the hunt for the pain meds. Do not let ANY Doctor give you more than 2 mgs to start...My Doc gave me AND my sister 8 to start and we almost died.
