Can You Take Targin With Suboxone?

My mother-in-law didn't tell her dr that she was on Suboxone and was given Targin (which is oxycodone 5mg + naloxone 2.5mg hydrochloride). She is on 2mgs of Suboxone. Will she get sick or withdrawal? Or will it actually help with pain relief?

Wow! No, she needs to inform her doctor, as soon as possible, that could result in a possibly dangerous overdose, since the Buprenorphine in Suboxone and the Oxycodone in Targin are both opiate narcotics, plus they both contain Naloxone, so she is also doubling up on that.

The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming, and my cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.

As to the withdrawal, that is doubtful, since the Suboxone will just prevent the Oxycodone in the Targin from working, since has already taken hold of her opiate receptors.

But she really needs to inform the doctor of everything she is taking, so she can be put on a safer pain regimen.

How is she doing, now? Has there been any change?

thankyou heaps we havent had lether take the targin yet with the suboxone as we thought it would be dangerous and especially that she never told her dr she was on suboxone so we will organise to tell the drthankyou
