Can You Cut Oxycontin In Half?

I cut a 30 mg Oxycontin in half and have already taken it. I didn't know the pill was time release until after taking it and I also took a whole one this morning. Should I go to the Emergency room?

Unless you started experiencing dangerous overdose symptoms, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, vomiting, severe dizziness, severe drowsiness and shallow breathing, there would most likely be no need for the ER. However, it is always best to double check with your doctor to be sure.
