Can My Meds Be Causing Amensia And Adhd?

I take Lyrica, Tramadol, Effexor, Vyvanse, Valium (I have been on this medication for the past forty years because I have TMJ and it works as an muscle relaxant), Hyoscyamine, Dexilant, Singulair, and vitamins. Could any of these drugs (along or in combination) be causing me to experience amnesia? I was also recently diagnosed with ADHD.

I am sorry to read of the problems you've been having.

Regarding the amnesia, or forgetfulness, that is listed among the possible side effects of Lyrica and Tramadol, while Vyvanse, Valium, Singular, and Hyoscyamine can all cause nervousness, and other ADHD-like symptoms. (Remove the Vyvanse, if you weren't taking it, when the ADHD appeared.)

There is no way to say if your issues are due to just one of them, or a combination, but yes, there is a chance that they are related to your medications.

Unfortunately, far too often, someone is prescribed more medications to deal with issues that might just be side effects of medications they are already taking, then since the new medications could also cause side effects, the problems just tend to continue.

Have you spoken to your doctor about the issue?

If the memory loss is a severe problem, you may need to try some different medications.

Thank you for replying. What is your profession? If you are a professional patient as I,your information is accurate for what I am experiencing. If you are a physician, then I will compare this with my physicians ( I have more than one) interpretations. I my own medical research.

Lyrica made me lose a couple days to sleep and confusion before I stopped taking it. Valium is a benzo & xanax cause terrible memory loss for me (while I am taking them, if I haven’t take one my memory isn’t terrible) and being really forgetful looks like ADD symptoms sometimes.

I discontinued the Vyvanse 10 days ago and now I know why I needed it. However, 7 hours later I become a screaming meme and personality mood swings. No more since after stopping.
