Began taking metronidazale again about a week ago. My husband and I had intercourse exactly a week ago n didnt use protection n im not on bith control. Im worried i might get pregnant again. Im not trying to get pregnant n wasnt able to the plan b on time. Would this medication prevent me from getting pregnant??

No, Metronidazole will not protect you from pregnancy, I'm sorry.

If you don't want to get pregnant, then I'd suggest you get a reliable method of birth control and use it regularly.

I don't want to be rude, but you're married, so it's really only reasonable to assume that intercourse is going to happen fairly regularly. Thus, you need to be prepared.

Condoms, spermicide and Plan B can all be purchased ahead of time, so you have them on hand and ready to use, if needed.

The most reliable methods, however, are oral contraceptives or an IUD.

All of them are also reversible, in case you do want to have a child in the future.
