Can You Take Pliva 433 While Pregnant

I'm having trouble sleeping at night n i have pliva 433 and i'm 5 weeks pregnant. Is it safe to take?

The pill with the Pliva 433 marking contains 50mgs of Trazodone, which is an SARI antidepressant, which can cause drowsiness, as a side effect.

And the FDA classifies it as being in pregnancy category C, because studies have shown an increase in congenital abnormalities, when it was used by pregnant animals.

Try over the counter sleep aids while pregnant before you take any kind of prescription for help sleeping. Before I was pregnant I was on a cocktail of prescription medications (vyvanse, xanax, hydrocodone, fentanyl, gabapentin) that I had to stop taking (minus the fentanyl patch [withdrawals could've been fatal to my baby girl] and gabapentin [pregnancy safe]). Luckily, I had no trouble stopping the meds. However, I was admitted to the hospital 2 days before I went into labor due to dehydration & had horrible anxiety & wasn't able to sleep for 2 nights prior to being admitted. The doctor told me that because I was so far along at that point that I was able to take Xanax again (hallelujah!) & Was able to sleep the next 2 nights until I went into labor. Don't chance it. You'll have many more nights that you'll have a hard time sleeping throughout your pregnancy & OTC sleep aids should do the trick. Trust me, the sleepless pregnant nights will be so worth it in the end! Although they will be no where close to your last sleepless nights once your little one gets here. But again, SO worth it!
