Can I Stop Taking Contrave After A Week Without Side Effects

I've taken Contrave for a week, Can I stop taking it with? Well there be any side effects from stopping with out gradually ?

No, there shouldn't be any problems after such a short period of time, but you should check with your doctor to be certain.

Why are you stopping it, already?

The FDA lists the typical side effects of Contrave as possibly including nausea, dizziness, insomnia, dry mouth and diarrhea.

After reading all these posts, I have nearly waisted $ 70.00 because I a seriously wondering if Contrave is really worth it for me. I know how to lose weight without pills but this Contrave just made me not wanting any sweets at all, which is my weakness. Regardless I will do the scale down program.

I have been taking Contrave for about 6 months. Lost 46 pounds, then leveled off. Going back to 1 pill AM and PM for 1 week, then 1 per day, then off. It is very, very helpful to use a supplemental program called "Scale Down". Cost $200, they send you a scale that you use every day. It sends a message on weight change and strategy. I experienced extreme dizziness for about 5 weeks, nauseous for about 4 which actually helped reduce eating, and insomnia. But I feel great!

I have been taken contrave for about 11/2 weeks so my dose is 1 in morning an 1 in the late afternoon early evening. I have started to experience stomach pains,nausea and vomiting. Are these side effects to be expected?i am really felling bad!

I stopped taking Contrave after one week and now feeling better. I do want to give it another try but have a "stupid" question....taking it in the morning I was extremely fatigued....I am thinking of trying my 1 pill in the late afternoon/early evening and see if this helps with sleeping thru the night instead of the day.........has anyone ever tried this or should I NOT do this. I lost weight and so I do want to like I said try it again....any thoughts on this???? Thanks for any insight as to why I should or should not would be great

I’ve been taking Contave for less than 1 month. Currently on 2 tabs am & 1 pm. I am having the involuntary finger movement, uncontrolled hand shaking w/ fine motor skill tasks & difficulty sleeping.
I want to stop the medication. With less that a month at this dose can I stop cold turkey or must I taper off.

I took Contrave for 4 days and have to stop because of nausea and not able to sleep. Having very weird dreams and wake up very uncomfortable where my body aches and have to stretch. It does take away craving but I feel nauseous all day. Not worth it. I wasted $194 on the prescription. :o(

Taken for two weeks one pill in am yesterday started one Am and one pm have terrible ringing in ears want to stop can I just not take any more and also dizzy

Looney Lib- took Contrave for 2 weeks. Lost 12 lbs! :). Had most of the side effects, extreme suicidal thoughts, trouble sleeping (1.5 hrs. of sleep nightly for 2 weeks), nausea, tight chest, claustrophobia, high bp, shakes, low glucose levels. I truly believed in Contrave. I don't think it's for me though. Maybe a gastric sleeve!! :°( Good luck tho'. PS., My doc says it will get better in time. Well, not if I am dead! I am done!!

Same here! I took it for a week and anxiety out of nowhere, sleepless nights and other side effects. I thank God so much for helping me through it. I think reading Matthew in the Bible helped me relax a bit. I stopped taking it afterwards. Not worth the money, well, for me anyways. God bless

I tried taking Contrave for 5 days. 1 pill in the am. Was so nauseous and migraine constantly until drug wore off late afternoon. Stopped taking it. Want to try again but to take a half pill and see if I get those nasty side effects. Has anyone tried taking a half pill?
