The pharmacy pamphlet says not to break or crush but I'm wondering if I can split my 20 MG Dicyclomine tablets in half to see what effects the med will have on me before taking a whole 20 MG tablet. I have read on forums that people do split them all the time but I would feel better hearing the answer from a professional.

So is it okay ti split a 20 MG dicyclomine tablet in half?

If the instructions for the ones you have say not to break, or crush them, then you should not do so.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, flatulence, and diarrhea.

Is there anything else I can help with?

I didn't realize anything said you weren't supposed to break them. Obviously that wouldn't work with capsules lol, but my doc prescribes 40mg for my 14 year old and told us to cut the tablet in half and if the half pill, 20mg, doesn't work or at least start working within an hour to an hour and a half she should take the other half. You should call your doctor's office and speak with or leave a message for a nurse just to check. My clinic will usually get back to me before the end of the day. If you can't get an answer by calling and you're really concerned it's best if you make an appt to see your doc. Hope this helps!
