Triamcinolone acetonide cream 0.025% and 0.1% are indicated for the relief of the inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses (a.k.a. a disease of the skin).

The warning label for this medication does note the following information regarding eye contact:

"This medication is to be used as directed by the physician. It is for dermatologic use only. Avoid contact with the eyes."

That said, you may want to look into other possible treatment options "if" you sense that the cream will be applied too close to your eyes. The precautions also state that if an irritation develops, topical corticosteroids should be discontinued and appropriate therapy instituted.

Quoted below are the dosing and administration guidelines for each preparation:

"Apply triamcinolone acetonide cream 0.025% to the affected area two to four times daily. Rub in gently.

Apply the 0.1% triamcinolone acetonide cream to the affected area two to three times daily. Rub in gently."

I have poison ivy only on one eye and nowhere else. I went through a round of prednisone exactly a month ago to get rid out it last month. It worked but i must have been reinfected. My doctor specifically told me to apply it to my eye! What my medical records don't say is that i was diagnosed with glaucoma but six months later another ophthalmologist said the diagnosis was wrong. Glaucoma runs in the family. Why would the doctor prescribe this and tell me to put it inside my eyelid if it was so dangerous.
