Camber Pharmaceuticals Generic Percocet (Page 23)

Updated

Just got Camber Pharm generic Percocet at Walgreens instead of the Actavis brand. It's giving me an upset stomach and causing me to feel weird. Has anyone else had a similar reaction?

Thanks for your response. My new independent pharmacy said they could not get Actavis. They can only get Alvogen, and they searched all three of their suppliers.

I may not have said it correctly about the Walgreens pharmacist who was talking about “the street”. He was not speaking specifically about Actavis, but he said he did not like to accommodate requests for specific manufacturers because people may be shopping for ones that will sell for more on the street. I told him Walgreens must’ve switched to Camber because it is cheaper, and it’s cheaper because it’s crap. And you can bet any money Walgreens saves on Camber does not go to lower prices for the customers or higher wages for the employees at the bottom—it goes to line the pockets of the Walgreens corporate executives.

Don’t want to get too political here, but I heard the government bragging last week about the FDA quickly approving new generics. I thought, “Yeah, like the horrible Camber that they probably rushed through approval without verifying its quality.”

I may try the pure oxycodone like you suggested.

I understand the issues with pill cutting. I take brand Klonopin because the generic clonazepam pill was so hard and tiny, it shattered into many pieces and crumbs in my pill splitter almost every time.

The Alvogen does not seem to work as fast for me as Actavis did. Actavis is owned by Teva which is an Israeli company which may explain why the Actavis seemed to be of much better quality.

I do fear people like us who legitimately need these pain medications are going to get hurt by the opioid hysteria crackdown.

Sadly I think WE the #patientsNOTaddicts are hosed. I have called a few large law firms that advertise or have been named in class actions and NOBODY seems interested. Insurance companies, the CDC, DEA, FDA and most every other govt agency that I have called or emailed seem to care less as well. I try to post my hashtag #patientsNOTaddicts whenever fitting. WE MUST not be silent.

The politicians in this country are drooling over the possibility that they could potentially have big money from pharma! There is a certain senator here in my state that has a new commercial, crying how she had to live with a mother who died of opioid addiction. She is going to fight this chronic opioid addiction crisis with all her political power, come November, isn't there voting again??? Doesn't take a scientific study to figure out what this lady is really after. I don't know one single family in this country who hasn't had to deal with someone who died from addiction, alcohol, cigarettes, food, sex, gambling, and other forms of self-abuse. Anyone who wants to destroy their lives and those around them has that choice to do so. People will find a way to abuse... period. If people found a way to misuse the drugs used to treat diabetes, do you think that the government would take them away from the people that need them? I guess so, if there is a potential for votes and money. I'm sorry you lost your mom to addiction miss senator, I do have a heart, but taking medication away from people that depend on it to have a normal life is punishment to the highest degree. I will not be voting for you. I sympathize with your loss but laugh at your stupidity that you believe taking opioids out of the picture is going to stop people from becoming addicted. Lady, I hope and pray that you never have to live the life of a human living with CHRONIC pain!!! You're an a**! Good day.

It's so interesting how these types of public outcries about opioid deaths; never give the circumstances behind it. Why was she using the opioids? Was she taking the drugs for any length time as prescribed by a doctor for pain? If so; did she decide one day to take the whole bottle? Did she commit suicide or was it an accident? Was she mixing them with benzos? Even then, if you have any sense, your very careful how you use benzos when taking opioids. The entire motive is too deceive the public and blame everything and everyone but the individual.

Amen....Well said....It is criminal to take away our meds...Nobody will get prosecuted for that though....Bunch of crap from the top down....I cringe every time i have to get meds because im made to feel addicted...Been taking them as prescribed for a long time...and yes im dependant on them...If i dont take them i cant get out of bed and have some sense of a "normal"life....I still have pain but at least im not bed bound....These bastards couldnt care less....

Thank you mark, joe and Bella for taking the time to write a response to my thoughts and grievances. Mark, I did open the document pertaining to the meeting that I'm going to listen to and vote on changes to Pain Management. I will be giving that discussion a piece of my mind before the deadline of the 25th. I need to gather my thoughts to make the best impact. I also certainly encourage other chronic pain citizens that feel they are being flushed down the swamp hole, to take a look at this document too and add to it, your voice. We will not be silenced. Quite frankly, I think they are trying to do just that to us. Stay strong my friends. I'm trying and that's not easy but together hopefully we can somehow get just one foot into the door.

We are already being harmed by this. Im convinced the Alvogen doesnt work as well either. Although not the nightmare the camber was. My independent pharmacy has Activas but only in 10mg and 15mg. They must be doing something different at Teva; because the dosage use to be 7.5 and 10mg. Either way, my palliative care doctor would prefer not to go up to 10mg, even though I cut them. Im getting a new script tomorrow and Im getting the straight oxycodone. I use to only take 2.5 at the most of the Actavis in a 24hr period. These Alvogen, wear off in 2 hrs. Im up to 3 or maybe a 3 1/4. Just enough to give me a problem with constipation; which I had no problem with for 18 months on Actavis. Who knows what junks in them. I truly believe they are making them less effective. What good does that do; except cause you to take more and ingest more binders and fillers. Then the Doctors try to say your becoming immune; Bull! Time to push another drug on you for the side effects of the other drug that doesnt work. Like antidepressants, gabapentin, etc. etc.

I guy wrote a comment on the "National Pain Report" site on one of the articles about his experience with being cut back. They have put him on so many other drugs; just to give less opioids. It has ruined the quality of life. The guy has serious pain issues. Maybe there trying to get rid of some of us like the elderly and the people who need more medical care. The baby boomers all turned 65 this year. Financially the system cant handle it. I could really say what I think here but it might not get posted. There is so much corruption and pandering for votes.

By the way; less than a week ago, the FDA approved a new drug for opioid withdrawal; (Lofexidine). I wouldnt be surprised if the drug company reps are out soliciting it to our doctors now. It does not treat pain. Check out "State News, New Drug approved by FDA for opioid addiction. Not a lot of comments yet but Im on there (Sue). I heard about it on talk radio or I would not have known.

Anyhow, I will deal with cutting the Oxycodone; because there small and there white and there made and manufactured by Epic pharmaceutical in the US. The only reason I got the perc again was because I had an extra script and couldnt get back to palliative doc. I will take a small amount of tylenol, if I feel I need it.

Bella I pray you & all get relief soon. At 1st when I came upon Alvogen I felt great; no side effects. The the fatigue, nausea etc allstarted again. Who knows what is going on but this lifeline for us has been changed. Yet our bodies are physically dependent. They must have all round removed an ingredient that lifted us out of the depression of years of chronic pain. Hope the straight oxy helps you. I tried same & felt numbed by it until my friend a Dr said it’s a must to take tylenol(over counter) along with it to trigger the oxycodone.
Much love to you & all!

Hello to all of you that are at this thread,
I’ve been trying to figure out The Who / what/ where/ when/ and the why pertaining to the responsible party that has made our lives a living hell. I’m almost certain that all pain meds have been stomped on to reduce their effectiveness and therefore we to are getting the same , reduced to non existent. My life prior to the big change was tolerable and now I find myself at a place that feels like the bottom of a dark hole , I’m trying to keep my head looking up , trying to find the truth in all of this and that’s what is soo frustrating, there isn’t any truth in this, I find nothing but lies ,
When Camber tried to poison me I informed the pharmacist that I would take all of my prescriptions elsewhere he then decided to accommodate me by ordering the old Actavis 7.5 , finally back to, I can get off of this damn couch ,,, yeah right , things have gone very much down the swamp hole, What’s wrong with wanting to feel good, why is it sooo bad to take a pill that reduces pain enough so that we are productive, functioning humans. I’m sooo damn sick and tired of trying to hunt down the truth in this b.s opioid crisis,I just want to get on with life, and that isn’t happening,,,
W. Pharmacy orders Actavis 7.5 for me,,, really, is that what they are really doing,, cuz I can’t seem to find that Actavis / Teva Pharmaceuticals manufactures 7.5s ,, and these oblong flat PAIN PILLS are so soft and powdery I’m amazed they aren’t turning to dust . What are these mysterious things and what are they doing to my health, HELLO , whoever is making these, naloxone isn’t good in a pain pill for people with chronic pain . Naloxone has not been studied for long term use ,, oh wait!! I’m the human lab rat ,,oh ,,,, well why didn’t you say !!! ? Hmmm ,, I missed the memo giving me as a HUMAN that choice. I feel like I’m being slowly poisoned . headaches every single day , that’s new , as well as every single muscle in my body is deteriorating at lightning speed. Fixing the opioid crisis, oh ,,, Well then I guess that’s ok ,,,I have one word

I noticed that when I use this medication my reflux is a orange color, but on day's I do not use it my reflux is clear. Other than the GERD do not have any other stomach problems. I have used other brands and did not have this problem. Does any one else have this problem?

Re: Marv (# 454) Expand Referenced Message

It is despicable how we good patients are suffering. Definately an abrupt change in the percocet formulation. After doing so much research of updated ingredients etc all info shows no changes or alterations, no additions/deletions of ingredients they state but I know they’re different. Never after years did I feel sedated until going on a year ago! This is criminal. I dread taking my dose but because my body is “physically dependent” I am forced to. The withdrawel is worse than not taking them. My attitude is now depressed, no energy or motivation. We must get to the truth. I feel I am being poisoned.

Re: MeJane (# 455) Expand Referenced Message

I agree, the CDC DEA or whatever GOV agency is short changing the CPP community so we cannot function. The CRAP fillers are infiltrating our meds, a ten mg perc might have two mg of oxy, i feel they are weaker and weaker and No it is not our body getting used to it BS. We need an interested law firm and independent lab for some serious work. WHERE? Who?

Re: MeJane (# 455) Expand Referenced Message

That Camber percocet is poision. My throat burned, my stomach kept me awake at night. I have had an endoscopy and biopsy back in may for an esophageal lesion that turned up on an MRI in April. It turned out to be cancer. I cant say there is any connection between that and the pills nor claiming that but Im suspicious. There was another lady (forgot her name) that had esophageal problems. However, I was Cancer free after lung surgery for 19 months. I was forced to use those pills the beginning of year and felt awful the whole time i was on them. Ive posted all my symptoms here before. I dont think any formula of the Oxy is the same or as effective.

If it helps; I went with an independent pharmacy and Im using Epic Oxycodone 5mg (manufac. in the US) and I add a little tylenol with it. I even cut 500mg in small pieces. If you can get to an independent pharmacy, it might be an option. The pills small and their whit. No Blue or yellow pills. I may be wrong but I feel like there are less binders and fillers. They do not upset my stomach or give me anxiety. I can even remember all the problems i had with that. I know my stomach rumbling kept me up at night. Chest pain. The straight Oxy is working for me. There tiny and scored; I mange to cut them; because i take a half at a time. Best Wishes to all of you

Re: DonaldS59 (# 453) Expand Referenced Message

I was given the 5mg Camber pills back at the beginning of the year at Walgreens. They were blue. I would get horrible reflux which often led to getting sick. You would think I had been eating smurfs. The dyes and fillers they use are poiskn. It was a horrible process to surrender the remainder of a month’s worth of pills to get a new prescription from a different pharmacy that was dye free. My dr listed that I am allergic to dyes. But her office accidentally called in one of my refills to Walgreens even though it called for dye free. And my record stated that I was allergic to dyes they still filled it with the blue Camber pills. I refused to accept them and asked for them to transfer the prescription to the pharmacy i had switched to. They told me they couldn’t transfer the script. So I requested they order a dye free alternative. They refused. The next day after calling my dr’s office the pharmacy called me and told me they did have another brand on hand that was dye free and I could come pick up my pills. So if they had them on hand the whole time why lie? Especially when the script calls for ko dyes and you have it listed as an allergy. The whole thing is scam. I’ve never been back to Walgreens since.

Re: Jen (# 458) Expand Referenced Message

The pharmacist at Wallgreens has no control over Wallgreens corporate. I read recently where they can get in trouble; even fired if they go out of there way to help the patient. I hate a tech tell me once when I was going through the same as you; "I hate Wallgreens, its just a job. I got the activist back for 2 months after the Camber nightmare; then the manger was nice enough to tell me Camber would be all I could get. Ive known him a long time. Dont ever call Corporate, they will play games. No attorney will help. The FDA and Big Pharma control all of this. Im too tired to get into it further. Anyone who does is wasting their time. After this experience; any time i pic up a script now, I say; dont ring that up until I see whats in the bottle. Check the manufacturer to see if its the same with any drug. Once they ring it up; they will not take it back. Your stuck with it.
