Gemcal capsule

Is it ok to have gemcal daily? I've been taking it for the last 1yr. Is there any side effects? ## Gemcal is a nutritional supplement it contains: Calcitriol .25 mcg, Calcium Carbonate 500 mg and zinc 7.5 mg. Learn more dietary supplement information here. As to taking it daily, in theory there shouldn't be a problem, because all of these nutrients are very important to your health, as long as you don't take more than is recommended. However, it is always advisable to ask your doctor about anything you take regularly, just to be safe. Do you have any medical conditions? Do you take any medications regularly? ## Tnx for the info. i fell badly and deep clut on back now i havepain upper area so dr give me this medicine and pain killer ## These are just nutritional supplements, but the U.S. FDA does warn that they may cause dry mouth as a side effect, in some people that take them. What pain medication were you prescribed? Are you on any other medications?

My doctor has advised chymonac tabs. Alongwith D-Gain & Gemcal -DS for degenerative changes in LS spine. I have constipation problem after taking these med. Pl. Advise is it side effect of these med? I am 70 year old. ## Based on my research, 'constipation' is in fact listed as a side effect of Gemcal-DS (calcitriol). If however, its become too bothersome or severe, I would strongly recommend contacting your doctor as soon as possible to find a more appropriate solution. Have you considered supplementing with any laxatives or digestive enzymes to help breakdown food blockages in the intestines? Can you give me any information such as the address or phone number of the company? ## Hi Buffy, There are actually several different manufacturers of Calcitrol, so I would need to know what your pill looks like (what imprints are on it, etc..) before determining who makes it. A few of the manufacturers I came across are: Roxane Laboratories, Inc. Ranbaxy Pharmaceuticals Inc. Teva Pharmaceuticals USA Roche Laboratories Please post back whenever you're able to and I can certainly find more specific details from there. :)
