Bystolic & Burning Sensation...

Updated

I've started bystolic a few weeks ago. My Dr changed the dosage and I am now on 15 mg a day at 8 hour intervals. Since taking this as instructed, I've had a burning sensation through my upper body, even up into my neck and head. I have had reflux issues, but I can't distinguish this from a possible side effect. My father died of a brain stem stroke, and this sensation creates a lot of anxiety for me. Does anyone else suffer from this burning sensation? It is not in my extremeties. Thank you!

Have you consulted your doctor?

You should consult them any time that you experience ofd symptoms, even if you think they are medication side effects.

Nebivolol is a beta blocker, that is usually used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions, but it generally causes less side effects than other medications in this class.

I'm on 5mg for a couple of months and have begun to feel burning in my feet, legs and upper back and tingling in my hands. The drug does effectively lower my BP and make me feel relaxed with a lower heart rate-But I don't like the burning and pins and needles. I plan to talk to the DR.

I take Bystolic 20mg daily at night time and it keeps my BP & Heart Rate low as it is supposed to do but I have noticed that I get the exact same deep intense burning sensation through the core of my chest and I've also had it at the base of my head/skull which had me thinking I had a blood clot traveling through my brain or something of which I'm on blood thinner so you can imagine the thoughts that go through your mind. But just last week the burning sensation was so intense I actually thought I was having some type of episode and called 911 and went to the hospital. They diagnosed it as a stress attack due to my nerves freaking me out about the sensations but now after reading this I"m thinking it might be the meds. It doesn't happen every day but I'm going to ask my cardiologist about this further.
