I'm currently taking butalbital + acetaminophen + caffeine (50-325-40) and imitrex 109 milligram for migraine relief. I have been taking it for years, but two days ago I started experiencing numbness in my upper left lip. ## I take Fioricet all the time. I would bet it’s the Imitrex that did that to you. I haven’t used that med in years but I remember it gave me weird tingling or something. ## Hello, I also take Fioricet or Fiorinal and have for 30+ year's.. I have NEVER had or even heard of something like you describe.. I would also have to agree and say it's the imitrex. Check with your Dr, best of luck! ## Yes, this can be a side effect of Imitrex, according to FDA reports. Other side effects may include nausea, flatulence, abdominal discomfort, and fever. How...

I would like to see an image of the pill by Alvogen marked A 247. And feedback on how it worked please. ## Hi Sue - The round blue pills from Alvogen inscribed with A 247 contain Butalbital 50 mg, Acetaminophen 325 mg and Caffeine 40 mg (NDC 47781-625) - generic for Fioricet. You can see an image from the manufacturer at If anyone has previously taken this please share your feedback in this thread. ## #SUE ~ I've had CHRONIC so for 35+ years. Back in the mid '80's thru the 90's, I took both FIORINAL + CODEINE (which has ASPIRIN in it) BEFORE my ULCERS & FIORICET + CODEINE (which has TYLENOL in it) AFTER I started getting ULCERS. IF you're getting EPISODIC MIGRAINES, like the type that my mother-in-law had (you get them here & there; once in awhile) those med...

I have BUT/ACETAMINOPHEN/CAFF 50-300-40 CP. What do the last two letters "CP" mean? Does it mean capsules? ## Hello Grace, Typically the abbreviation CP in the medical field refers to cerebral palsy but in reference to a pill itself it's fairly safe to assume that it could stand for capsule. Each company and pharmacy have their own way of labeling things so if it's truly of great concern to you simply ask your pharmacy or the manufacturer who labeled the bottle. ## The ingredients listed in your abbreviation correspond with: Butalbital 50 mg / Acetaminophen 300 mg / Caffeine 40 mg I am inclined to agree with everyone on here that the "CP" could likely stand for Capsule ... However, there is a variation of this med that also contains Codeine Phosphate 30 mg in add...

I was told that mia 110 contains codeine as well. Is that the truth? I was told this by the pharmacist and I had prescription for fioricet with codeine and that's what I got. Is this less expensive than fioricet with codeine? I don't think it has any codeine as I have terrible headaches still. ## No, there is no codeine in those tablets. It is simply Mikart's generic version of Fioricet which contains butalbital, acetaminophen, and caffeine. No opiate. ## Just to confirm, the pill in description (MIA 110) is indeed a combination of Acetaminophen (325 mg) + Butalbital (50 mg) + Caffeine (40 mg). Manufacturer: Mikart, Inc. This is most commonly used to treat migraines and tension headaches. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Acetaminophen + Butalbital + Caffein...

What are the milligrams of but/acetaminophen/caff 50-300-40 cp? I'm 75 and take a # of medications for restless leg, fibromyalgia and arthritis. I've never taken this drug before, but had what the dr.s think was a migraine weeks after eye surgery. Eye dr. has checked my eyes. Do I have to take this drug every day? Script calls for every 6 hours. I'm a little cautious as I've already had a horrible reaction to clamaspan. Thanks, earle ## Hello, Earle! How are you? The dosage is 300mgs of Acetaminophen, 50mgs of Butalbital and 40mgs of Caffeine. Usually, this medication is taken as needed, rather than all the time. Its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, nervousness, insomnia and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Read more: Are there any questions? ## The original question: Does this cause anxiety among some users? ## I have been given this medication for Migraines and I am already taking Vicodin for pain, and it hasn't been helping so the E.R. side effects of butalbital ## I WHANT TO KNOW WHAT IS BUTALBITAL APAP FOR A HAVE AN STROCK 3 YEARS A GO AND IM STEEL HAVE PAIN IN MY LEFT SIDE OF MY BODY CAN THIS PILL HELPME FOR THAT? ## Butalbital is a barbiturate, it's often combined with Acetaminophen and used to treat pain and headache. You can learn more Butalbital details here and you can learn more Acetaminophen details here. However, I don't know if would treat the type of pain that Tinita was asking about, since it's hard to guess at what may be causing her pain. If it's due to pinched nerves or damaged nerves, then such a medication may not work that well to help. Side effects to this medication may include dizziness, drowsiness, sedation and euphoria. Are there any comments or questions?

My Mom Maria just got a percription for headaches but she has several different issues with her health, thyroids ,diabeties to name a few but now her doctor percrider her IC BUTAL APAP CFF 325 mg.. last night she didn't sleep a wink..could the other meds be causing her more problems?? ## The reason your Mom didn't sleep was because her butalbital has caffeine in it....the Dr. can change it to one without the caffeine. I had the same problem and my doctor changed mine.

can But/apap/caf be used for other temporary pain associated with arthritis or fibromyalgia ## That stands for Butalbital, Acetaminophen and Caffeine, this combination is usually used to treat migraine headaches. It may help a little with pain from those conditions, since the Acetaminophen is commonly used to treat pain and swelling. Have you spoken to your doctor or pharmacist about what you should use for the pain?
