Â
Hello to ANYONE who can HELP Answer some Questions for me...

I have been taking Buprenorphine for about a week now. Does anyone know how long that stays in your system?? ÂI am 5 foot & 5 inches. I weigh about 137 pounds or so...
I have to hey drug tested in about 5 days and I'm nor sure if I will pass or not.Â
My Doctor is prescribing me 7.5mg Percocets to take 3 every day.Â

So, here is my DILEMMA:
I ran out of my Percocet script before I should have. ÂTaking about 5 to 7 a day. Â
I got some Buprenorphine and have been taking those so I won't withdrawal. Will this show up as OxyContin, Oxymorphone Âor Oxycodone?? Â(I'm sure I've probably misspelled some of drug names, Sorry). Â
**Does anyone know how long the Buprenorphine, etc... Âwill stay in my system and so you think I can pass my DUMB "Drug Test" in about 6 days or so???
ANY & ALL ADVISE IS COMPLETELY APPRECIATED!!
Thank you in advance.
PLEASE HELP!!!

Okay, first the Buprenorphine would have to be something they are specifically looking for, it is actually not included on standard drug tests.

Second, if it is tested for, it would be detected as exactly what it is, which is Buprenorphine and not any of the other drugs you mentioned.

Third, like most other narcotics, it is generally detectable in a standard urine test for about 4 to 5 days, after last dosing. There is no way, however, to give a precise time frame, because individuating factors are always going to come into play, such as your overall health, fluid intake, activity levels and etc.

Since it seems like noone on here really knows enough to help u with an answer i will. Im sure this is an older post so u probably did ur pee test, but id be interested to hear the results. I had leukemia when i was 15 to 19. IT DESTRYOYED my bones leaving me with chro ic pain for tne rest of my life. 3 weeks ago i went to the pharmacey to pick up my normal script of opana er aka oxymorphone. Im perscribed 5 of the 40 mg extended release kind. They were only able to give me 39 out of the 150 pills im supposed to get a month. My dr was out od the country for these two weeks, so when i finished my 39 pills i had to go into the er with withdrawls. They kept me there for two nights putting me on subxone 8 mg 3 times a day,the went home, where i saw the shrink who specializes in subxone. She was pissed as hell that the dr in the er put me on itin the first place because it is not used for chronic pain, only addiction. She also told me to never go see that pain dr again, since he left me to go tnrough withdrawl, and being out of the country is no excuse.anywayx what i wanted to say to alll u people who have ths question about how long u have to wait before u can take narcotics agai heres the answer directly from my dr who specializes in subxone told me. That with me being on the highest dose of the subs at 24 mg a day and if u take it correctly and the nalxone has no affect unless there is abuse, she said the way around it after only being on it a week is to take high dose opiods. I just got switched back two days ago to 2 80 mg oxycotin in the am, and 3 80's at bed time, along with my oxycodone 30 mg immediate release every 8 hours as needed. So far after two days theyve beeen working at about 50 to 60 percent of what they normally do for my pain. The dr said in a couple more days they should be back to working a 100 percent. So to all u people who take subxone if ur thinking low dose vicidion or low dose oxycodone, or anytning like that its not going to work at all. U woukd have to stop the subs and deal with the withdrawl for a out a week before anything low dose would touch u. Like i said these arent my opinion this is directly what my dr whos speciality is subxone told me. I hope this helps some people, sorry this got so long but i wanted to explain as good as i possibly could. If anyone has any questions on any kind of pain medication feel free to write back, because i have been on every narcotic used for pain that are legal with a perscription, and hzve 9 years od knowledge built up on it.

I'm curious. You stated the highest dose was 24, I take 4 suboxone 8/2 a day (32mg) sub (10mg naxolone). What state do you live in;; I've heard its a very high dose, and some states only allow 3 per day. I also have leukemia, destroyed my bones and have rheumatism auto immune to boot. I chose to go off the fentanyl and onto the subs...knowing someday soon when I really need that fentanyl to work, it will. Just very curious of the rules and regulations varying by state

Hey Joan I'm sorry it has taken me so long to reply, I didn't see there was a response. Maybe there are different rules by state because I do live in wi. If 32 mg works for u all for it maybe the Dr told me the wrong thing, she said it tops out at 24 mg and that taking a higher dose wouldn't do anything which is why it's a hard drug to abuse. But I'm no expert on subs, I think I took it for 3 days. Wow crazy u had leukemia too. It's a horrible disease by itself but living with all the terrible things the treatment does to ur body are even worse. I tried the whole deal with all the pain and take the less strong narcotics for 3 years, where I took methadone, then it slowly stopped working day by day where I was able to work less and less to the point where I was fired cuz I couldn't make it even a couple hours of a shift without having to go home cuz I couldn't stand on my feet any longer. At this point I really thought about what kind of life I was going to have for the rest of my life. I decided instead of taking less pills and be in bed all day and not work I decided I wanted to work and deserved the most normal semblance of a life as I was ever going to get so I went back on the strong narcotics and while I can't work full time I can work and have a life. Most people can't even tell I take super strong narcotics because after 9 years of being on them my body is very use to them and I will be on them the rest of my life once I committed myself I felt a lot less like some druggy and more like a cancer survivor who has chronic pain that will last the rest of my life. Currently I take the Opana er 40 mg 2 in the am and 3 at bed time. Also for break through pain I'm allowed to take the Oxycodone 30 mg immediate release every 6 hours. I'm not like a lot of people who snort or sell there pills. Never will be either, would like to keep up the conversation and here more about what u went through and the different experiences with meds u have had, thanks.

Actually, Buprenorphone -- now subutex or the other which has the anti-narcotic ingredient in it-- has been used for depression and pain for decades. I use it for pain, and you do have to be careful about it being in your system if you then start taking full grade narcotics--it will produce quick and full scale withdrawal. But the dr who told her patient that the er doctor was wrong was not really informed on the research--the liquid form is better for pain but a little more dangerous, as it does have a "martini" effect. I do find now that I have been on them for a few years that standard narcotics do very little. But this is NOT a new drug-- they just discovered that it works well for detoxing. I have also heard lately that it is now the most abused drug in the U.S.-- I don't really understand that as the pill form at least doesn't really do much save helping with depression, but I hear that if it is crushed and shot up with Klonipin it will get you high (and it may kill you). It is generally safer because it has a respiratory threshold. THey also say it has a pain relief threshold but I'm not convinced that is correct and some of the research shows otherwise.

Hi Phil,
Sorry your always in so much pain and have to take all those narc's. God Bless you and hope he heals you. My question to you is, I have been on Suboxone for 3 months and have not touch anything else. Until today...to make a long story short. I haven't been feeling well and I'm a shut-in. I don't ever leave the house unless I have to. I have no social life and I am an opiate addict. I just wanted to feel better and possibly have some fun. Fun doesn't exist in my life. So, I took 60 mgs of Oxy's today. I usually have to take at least 100mg to feel anything from them, but my Dr. told me that's how people overdose. So, I am trying to be safe. I don't want the drugs to control me again. I just want to feel better and get a little high. I didn't take my suboxone today so I don't even know if anything will happen yet. I just took them about 15 mins ago. I have to go back to the Dr. on Wed. for a UA. Do you think this will show up?

Do they make 10 mg suboxon r and what do they look like. My s.daughter found a small peach pill with 10 mg on one side and a square with 5 :.: dots on other. I think it's oblong. Also do you have pics of them?

You're probably screwed because like methadone buprenorphine has a long half-life and stays in your system a lot longer than most opiates methadone can stay in your system from using it one time up to 11 days on a low dose I'm not sure the exact number of days on buprenorphine but I do know that it has at least a 24-hour Half-Life and you're looking at 5 to 8 half-life's to get it out of your system and then there will still be metabolites that can show up that show that you did use that drug.

Suboxone is not a pain medication it doesn't fill the same amount of opiate receptors that opiate pain medications do. The only similarity is that Fentanyl and Suboxone or both opioids and opiates but in my opinion the only use for suboxone or Subutex is for detoxing on a short-term basis if you stay on it for over a week you're going to be addicted to it and there's nothing euphoric about it so basically you're just addicted for the sake of addiction. You have to be opiate resistant to take fentanyl or there's a good chance you'll end up like Michael Jackson and once you do go through the withdrawals from the Suboxone you're going to be clean so you're not going to have a tolerance and they probably won't put you on fentanyl without going through the oxy morphine route.
