Xanax vs. Buspar
284 Replies RSS
Yes-what is the major difference between these 2 meds? I have taken xanax for several years. I'm thinking abt. changing to Buspar. Can you switch meds like these without tapering off the xanax. Does Buspar help w/ Panic attacks? ## Hi, I wanted to address the panic attacks you are experiencing. Often panic attacks and anxiety are the body's natural reaction to telling us something has gone wrong that needs to be addressed. It is usually some form of trauma that has happened in our life that creates the panic attacks and anxiety. Medication numbs the symptoms but do not address the root of the problem. Have you considered going into therapy to see what is causing the panic attacks and anxiety? ## buspar is suppose to be taken everyday its taken to level u out....zanax are suppose...

Non-benzodiazepene anxiety treatments
1 Reply RSS
Looking for ideas of alternative anxiety treatments other than benzodiazepenes. I do not know if I can be prescribed benzos due to my medical history. I was wondering if anybody had any ideas or other alternatives that I may ask my doctor about? ## BuSpar is an option, the FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and weight loss. It is not considered addictive. Many SSRI and SSNRI antidepressants can also treat anxiety. It really depends on which one works best for you. Are you on any other medications?

Buspar (busiprone) & false positives - YES, they can happen
91 Replies RSS
I've noticed a-lot of poeple out there are asking about buspar, & false postives.. as well as it's relation to xanax (alprazalam). Let me start off by saying that my husband is prescribed 15mg. buspar (I believe 1 3x a day) along w/some other drugs from his pyschologist such as ambien, and depacote. I can state that I took his buspar during a horrible anxiety/panic attack (also known as busiprone) and I also need to mention I go to a methadone clinic. After taking the buspar, I went to clinic to take my usual drug-screen (also let me mention I was receiving takehomes, only going once every 2 weeks as I'd never failed a drug test), thinking nothing of it as I'd read they don't show up as anything. Well, WRONG for me.. my drug test came back 100% positive for benzo...

I have unrepairible neck and back issues plus my artificial knee has never stop hurting Thank u ## Hello, Jerry! How are you? Due to the new regulations that were put in place this year, if you require controlled substances for long-term treatment of chronic pain, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. Do you currently have a PCP in your new location? Having one refer you would most likely be the quickest way to get the help you need. ## Look on medschat for doctors willing to prescribe heavy pain medications in Colorado..You will find all the help you need!! ## ...

white side pill noted mb2 is a 10mg, buspar used for anxiety
3 Replies RSS
I'm currently taking clonazepam 1mg, for panic anxiety for over ten yrs. Someone informed that a 10mg, mb2 buspar is stronger and works better. Does an1 have any info about that? I would like to get off the clonazepam but I have bad panic anxiety. And am afraid to switch to something else. That's part of my anxiety is being to cautious. But I rather be that way and be on something that isn't habit forming. Had I know it would be then I wouldn't of taken it yrs ago. But I take the 1mg clonazepam twice a day. But if I feel ok then I don't take the second one. But have read that you can't stop and need to wean off of it. Please any info would be appreciated. I don't want to be on things that can be habit forming. Ty.. ## Hello, Jaxx! How are you? I'm very so...

Oblong white pill three lines
2 Replies RSS
We found a oblong white pill with three lines on one side no letters or numbers. No idea. ## @Danny, I know most legitimate prescription and over the counter meds are required by law to have letters, numbers, and/or symbols that are indicative of the manufacturer, substance, and dosage. So based on your description, these do come across to me as being some sort of foreign or counterfeit version of a Buspar or Xanax tablet. However, without having any verifiable markings outside of the three lines, you'd probably have to have it analyzed by a lab in order to know for certain. Would you say the lines are more like score lines (divids) or are they actually printed in ink? ## I have a Xanax pill with 3 lines and no letters or numbers on both sides. It's from Mexico. Do you think thi...

Take One Pill 3 Times A Day
4 Replies RSS
How long is the interval for 3 x a day be? ## Hi Maureen, If you're to take one pill 3 times a day, the best advice I can offer is that you divide 24 (hours in day) by 3. This would equate to taking one pill every 8 hours. I hope this makes sense! Please post back if you have any other questions or comments regarding this. ## 3 TAB A DAY, OF LEVETIRACETA 1000MG. HE WOULD LIKE TO SPREAD THEM OUT. ## Not true. That's every 8 hours. When it's 3 times a day you take 3 times during the day. You don't have to wake up or take it around the clock.only if it says every 8 hours. So what times are best for you. I take mine morning, lunch, and dinner. ## This is the most intelligent, well-explained answer to this question that I've ever come across. My Dr was not able to tell me...

buspar and hallucinations
1 Reply RSS
I may have accidentally taken a Buspar instead of my Xanax and experienced severe visual hallucinations for about 2 hours afterwards would this be possible from Buspar? It was a stupid thing to do but I ran out of my Xanax and my friend gave me what I thought was Xanax bars which I have never done before. ## Yes, it is not a common side effect, but the FDA does list it as being reported from those taking this medication. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and nervousness. What are the markings on the bars you took?

Why did my po say I cannot take busbar or celexa or any form of anti depressant while I'm drug testing. He called them tsa's. What are tsa's
1 Reply RSS
Po says no to busbar in place of Xanax and also no anti- depresants of any kind while on probation drug screens. He called them tsa's. What are tsa's, I have mental illness and have never been told "we want you to feel all your feelings." I don't understand how they can stop you from non-narcotic medications. Why is this? ## I'm not sure what state you live in, but the PO is very wrong for telling you that and you need to let your PO until you have something in writing you can't just discontinue your non narcotics and I'm pretty sure that once you request it in writing an he or she realizes thst you or your family will hold him fully accountable because he or she is forcing you to go directly against doctors orders, as well as pharmacies instructions on t...

iIs it ok to take buspar and xanax
1 Reply RSS
My dr has me on 1mg of xanax and I am still having anxiety, so he put me on buspar as well. Is it safe and will it work? ## Hi Mary, If your doctor prescribed both medications then I believe it is his or her professional opinion (after an in person evaluation & reviewing your medical records) that you can safely take them together in the doses that you were put on. My understanding is that your prescribing doctor also believes they will work well together... So I think if you're going to question their "expertise", perhaps it would be best to seek the opinion of another medical doctor (or pharmacist) outside of your network. I'd also encourage you to check out the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool) for good measure, where you can ...

What is White Pill With To Split Lines no other imprints
2 Replies RSS
I HAVE WHITE PILL WITH 2 SPLIT LINES NO NUMBERS WHAT IS IT? ## If there are no markings, then it may be difficult to identify. We can rule it out as being a U.S. prescription medication, because they are all required to have unique imprints to enable their identification. However, it could be any one of a large number of over the counter products. Learn more OTC drug details here. There is also a small chance that it could be a foreign medication. Where was it found? The general area may help to narrow it down, since some products are regional. ## More than likely sounds as if you hAve buspar. They are smaller and have less. Scores.

If you don't know what your talking about quit posting stupid information! !! ## I really hate ignorant people like you, the guy was asking a question because he didn't know. Can buspar and Diphebdydramine be taken together with out any bad side effects or causing death also what should the dosage be for both medications ## Hello, Sol! How are you? I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between the two, but it is always best to double check such information to be safe. You should not exceed or change your doctor's dosing instructions, unless they tell you to change something. Is there anything else I can help with?

How can I switch from buspar to xanax
2 Replies RSS
I was taking xanax for my anxiety disorder. My doc switched me to buspar. I don't like it and I do not ! It is helping. I know xanax works for me and I did take it responsibly. My doc doesn't like to prescribe benzos to anyone. How can I convince him that I'm more comfortable with the xanax? I'm afraid to ask for the xanax specifically because I don't want to be treated or accused of abusing them. ## Hello, Jme! How are you? How long have you been taking the Buspar? It doesn't work like Xanax, which you can take as needed, you'll need to take the Buspar for about 4 to 5 weeks, before it'll reach its full level of efficacy in your body, in order to see if it will help you, or not. What effects don't you like about it? Many doctors prefer it to benzodia...

Can dosage increase of Buspirone HCL (BuSpar) be felt shortly after 1st new dose?

Is it possible 4 patient who's has been taking 60mg (every morning) of Buspirone regularly for 6+months then, after doctor recommends adding 30mg at night (for limited time to get through sudden situational increase of anxiety) to begin feeling LESS anxiousness within an HOUR of new dose? Or is it just a placebo effect? ## Hello, Christy! How are you? Yes, it is possible. It may not work that way for everyone, but it does for some people. There are even women who suffer from PMS that take a medication such as Prozac just for 2 weeks of the month, because it has enough immediate effect to help them over their worst hormonal days. It really just depends on the person and how their body responds to any given medication. This medication may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness,...
