Breakthrough Bleeding Or The Wrong Pill?

I started taking Lo Loestrin FE on 10/12/13, the Sunday after my last period. This Wednesday I started bleeding brown a little, but only when I wiped. Now it's Friday and I'm bleeding even more, but I shouldn't have my period for another week and a half. Is this just my body adjusting or should I stop taking it and as my gyno for something else?

Yes, it can take about 3 months for your body to get used to these hormonal contraceptives and breakthrough bleeding is very common during that time period.

However, it is best to consult your doctor to be sure that there's nothing else unusual going on.

I called my doctor and they said the same thing, and to not worry about it (but of course I'm still worrying about it). My main concern is that I've been bleeding since Wednesday so I'm confused, does this count as a period? And will my cycle be all messed up now?
