Boniva may cause:
pain or trouble swallowing (dysphagia)
heartburn (esophagitis)
ulcers in your stomach or esophagus (the tube that connects your mouth and stomach)

Common side effects with Boniva are:
diarrhea
pain in extremities (arms or legs)
upset stomach (dyspepsia)
