Blood Pressure Medications Help

Updated

I am currently taking 6different medications for my high blood pressure. I feeel like this is a bit much and would like to cut back. I am taking glipizide 15mg, metformin 1000 mg (2 a day), lisinopril 20/12.5mg, clonidine 0.1mg (3 a day), metoprolol er 100mg, verapamil 240 mg. Is there anyway that I can stop taking some of these medications? I have to take medications a day and I would like to eliminate some of these medications.

Hello,

I would speak with your healthcare provider before stopping any of your current medications. Only he will know your past medical history and what steps you should take through the withdrawal process.

However, I can offer some information about how to plower your blood pressure naturally. Over the past few years I've done a lot of research on natural remedies and how to cure the body without medication.

It has been proven that changes in your diet/lifestyle are most likely going to have the biggest impact on your blood pressure. In fact, there are many natural alternatives for blood pressure control that in my opinion can be just as effective as prescription medication if taken seriously.

Eating whole foods that have little to no sodium and which are high in potassium and magnesium are solid dietary options for lowering blood pressure. These foods primarily include fresh fruits and vegetables; bananas and dates in particular are great for this, among many others!

Other dietary and non dietary options for lowering blood pressure can include:

Coenzyme Q10
Garlic
Hawthorn
Folic acid
Yoga
Meditating daily
Autogenic training
Aerobic exercise
Ayurvedic medicine

I really hope this helps!

I WAS TAKING CODIOVAN 320-25 FOR HYPERTENSION AND JANUVIA FOR BLOOD GLUCOSE. RESULTS WERE MORE OR LESS GOOD .3 WEEKS NOW I HAD A HIGHER PRESSURE AND I CHANGED THE CODIOVAN
TO MANYPER + COAPPROVAL. THIS HAD THE FLWG RESULT = EXCELLENT PRESSURE RESULTS BUT MUCH HIGHER BLOOD SUGAR.
I HAD READ THAT THE COAPPROVEL MAY DO THAT AND SO I STOPPED IT. I AM TAKING NOW CODIVAN 320-12.5 AND 10 MG ( instead of 20 ) OF MANYPER. STILL GOOD BLOOD PRESSURE BUT SUGAR STILL HIGH.

WHAT TO DO ?
HAS THE COAPPROVEL IN 2 DAYS INFLUENCED SO MUCH AND IT IS LASTING MORE?
HAVE I TO STOP THE MANYPER ?
I KNOW THAT THE CALCIUM CHANNEL BLOCKER I USED 3 Y AGO ( NORVASK ) WAS NOT GOOD FOR
ME AS I SAW MY TRANSAMINASES GETTING VERY HIGH. ON THAT TIME I HAD NOT ANALYZED FOR BLOOD SUGAR, SO I DONT KNOW ABT THAT.

ANY COMMENT ABT THIS ? THKS
