Bisopr/ Hctz 5- 6 .25 Mg Tab

Updated

Today I recieved this but it is a blue tablet with ( 5 0 3 ) on one side of it and the letter M on the other side. the pharmasicst said that it was a generic brand that has a beta blocker in it. I do not know what that is either. And this is my first time having to take any type of high blood pressure pill.
Can you tell me if this is correct or not. I would appreciate any help on this at all.

Yes, this tablet contains 5mgs of Bisoprolol and 6.25mgs of Hydrochlorothiazide, this combination is commonly used to treat high blood pressure and other cardiac conditions.

Bisoprolol is the beta blocker that your pharmacist mentioned and the Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic that help to reduce the amount of fluid retained by the body, which in turn also reduces sodium.

Common side effects to this medication can include: nausea, drowsiness, stomach pain and dehydration.

I have high blood pressure, myself and have experience with all of these medications, so if you have any other questions, please feel free to ask!

Are there any other comments or questions from anyone?

I just recently started taking this medication and am not all too familiar with the side effects. My doctor prescribed Ziac for my Tachycardia condition and this med works 100 times better than Inderal. It really controls my condition I just hope it never gets recalled like Darvocet.

I have that same condition and I just recently started taking this med and ur right they were red now they're blue. This is a really good drug it really does control my tachycardia. I used to take Tevetin but that was very expensive and it dropped by heart rate too low. Doctor then prescribed Inderal and after a few years it just wasn't working. Dr then prescribed Ziac but of course the pharmacy gives the generic version. Just wonder why it went from red to blue?!? This drug by far has worked well and has kept my Tachycardia under control. I also took Darvocet for many, many years and was upset when the FDA recalled it. It worked very well didn't have the drowsy effects that some narcotics have. I would take one or 2 and I would have a very non pain productive day. Now days my doctor is trying to figure out wich pain killer will work best with my condition to date I take ultram but it doesn't work as well as Darvocet. I have 4 herniated disk in my lower back and 2 in my neck from a very bad accident I had back in 04. I've had Tachycardia for many years. According to my cardiologist this is a condition and should return to normal after treatment however, without the meds my Tachycardia shoots right back up to the high numbers and that limits my activities so I guess zumba is out of the question eh =(

I have a question...has anyone taken Ciprofloxacn sub for Cipro?? This is an antibiotic I took then I decided to read the side effects becauseI I'm on alot of medications. I worry about interactions. I was shocked at what I read! I stopped immediately! Tearing of the tendonds is the main side effect, went on to read that this condition may still happen even though you finished the regiement. If anyone has used this antibiotic I would love some feedback.

For information on Beta Blockers and how they work go here...

Hope this helps. I take alot of meds so I'm constantly researching my meds to see if there's an ineration. I'm very careful. Pharmacist do not take the time to do an inteaction review. I just found out not to long ago that 2 of my meds taken together in the early statges could have caused me to have seizures. Thank god that didnt happen. Now I read up on all meds and I think everyone should. Your life depends on it!!!

I have had three back surgeries, I take this prescription patch and it works very well for me also, however; it works for any body pain you have get a prescription from your doctor. I have also gone to Eastern medicine. I get Acupuncture and it works for me. Also, insurance companies will help you with the cost.
