Hello Dave Hughes,

Some side effects of Casodex may include but are not limited to the following:

reproductive system and breast disorders, breast tenderness, gynaecomastia, hot flushes, gastrointestinal disorders, diarrhoea, nausea, hepatic changes (elevated levels of transaminases, jaundice), asthenia and pruritus.

To answer your next question; if you're talking about Bicalutamide, the active ingredient in Casodex, then yes you could take it instead if you want. However, it would most likely be the generic version. I can't remember if I told you this in my last reply, but the FDA permits generic formulas to contain up to 20% more or less of the actual active ingredients.

This factor, along with different inactive ingredients (binders/fillers) could enable you to have a completely different reaction. That means, it may not be as effective as the Brand name, Casodex, however you would have to try it out to know for certain how it will effect you.

You can learn more about this drug on the page for Casodex Details

I hope this helps to answer your question!
