This is my second time trying Ardosons because the first time that I tried it I felt an elevated heart rate and got scared so i stopped taking it after the first day. My doctor recommended it for my severe sciatica pain and today was my first time taking it again and I have an elevated heart rate (I can feel it) should I be worried about this side effect? Can something serious actually happen to me by taking this medication? ## Hello, Alice! How are you feeling? Has there been any change? Are you on any other medications? Have you actually checked your pulse rate to know if it is high, or are you just going by the fact that you can feel it? An elevated heart rate and experiencing palpitations, where you can feel your heart beat, are not necessarily one and the same, although it is possi...

what is this used for ## i would like to know what this ointment is used for ## 12 years ago, at a time of great stress in my life I had terrible rash in feet/lower legs which 4 (!) dermatologists looked at, prescribed creams for, each made it worse than before. In desperation I went to NYU dermatology medical center which first told me to throw all creams & lotions prescribed and then conducted contact/other allergy tests which were all negative. They then prescribed an ointment formulated & dispensed exclusively at the hospital pharmacy, with many refills which immediately started working, i.e., it was soothing & it didn't make it worse. I refilled this many times & eventually it all went away & never came back. I kept my last jar in case it ever came back to b...

I have COPD and was wondering if Ardosons will cause any adverse side effects to my breathing? I have 2 inhalers: Spriva (once daily) and Symbalta (twice daily). ## Ardosons contains Betamethasone, it is a steroid class medication that is used to treat allergic reactions, inflammation, and immune disorders. (An NDC link for more information: 66993-897.) The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including rash, nausea, headache, skin redness, and irritation. (In the U.S. it is most commonly used topically.) Symbalta is not the name of an inhaler? Can you please double check the name and post back? Thank you! And given you have issues breathing, it would be best not to take anything your doctor has not approved for you. ## In my first post I mistakenly mentioned that one of my in...

I have acne on the back of my neck. My age is 71 years. I have tried antibiotics with no success. I am desperate. Info I got says it is incurable. Please help. ## Hello, Leon! How are you? Actually, since this cream contains a steroid, it can cause acne as a side effect, so it isn't likely to help, according to the NIH. Acne is always curable, so to speak, depending on the underlying cause. If you deal with whatever is causing it, the acne will go away. Are you on any medications? Did your doctor give you any idea of what's causing the acne?

Can it be used on dogs hot spots? ## Will it hurt a dog if ingested ## Hi Denise, Personally I think it would be a good idea to contact a veterinarian before treating any animal with any medication - Regardless of whether it's a cream or pill for ingestion. The way their system reacts/responds to many types of drugs can be vastly different from what we perceive as normal, so it's better to be overly safe than take even a slight risk with our pets. Something else worth noting is that if the cream isn't used properly, one of its active ingredients (Betamethasone - a steroid) may make some skin conditions worse off. I wish only the best for you and your pet! ## Our vet usually prescribes Otomax for any hot spots/infections, which has the same ingredients as Gelmicin. So it SHOU...

I used Gelmicin in Mexico to relieve the itching of bug bites... it seemed to work well but want to know if it really did work or was it a placibo effect? ## Hello, Douglas! How are you? When you have itching or irritation from bug bites, it is actually due to an allergic reaction to various components in their saliva, for instance, mosquito saliva contains a substance that helps keep the blood from clotting, for awhile, so they can feed and the raised welt with itching is due to your body having an allergic reaction to it…. That said, and getting to my point, one of the ingredients in Gelmicin is a steroid, Betamethasone, and they are often used to treat allergic reactions, because they can help reduce the body's immune response, as well as reduce the inflammation, so no, it ...

my daughter contracted vaginal herpes, she tried this cream Gelmicin and says it works great. Is it safe to use and if so where can i get more? thank you. ## Hello, Vanessa! How are you and your daughter? No, she shouldn't use Gelmicin to try to treat herpes. One of it's ingredients in a steroid, Betamethasone and steroids can actually wake up the virus and cause, or worsen breakouts, as reported by the U.S. FDA. To treat or prevent herpes outbreaks, she needs an antiviral medication. Her doctor can prescribe one for her in either a topical cream or to be taken orally. Their typical side effects are nausea, headache and stomach pain. Is there anything else I can help with?
