doctor said i am having sle diseases so i m taking 6 kind of medicine..they are azoran 100mg,hcqs 400mg,emsolane 5mg,depicor 10mg,glocal 500mg and ecosprine 75mg..i m improving ma health but not fully.ma recent problem is that afta taking these medicine ma skin are darkening and my face colour hav been darkened so badly.i guess this is side effect of any of those mentioned medicine.so i would like to say me which medicine is doing side effect of darkening the skin mainly..hope u wil reply me soon.i am very eager to hear the reply and will talk with my doctor about it..

It is very difficult to say what might be causing the melasma, it may be due to one of the medications, or it could be due to some type of hormonal imbalance.

For instance, pregnant women, or women in perimenopause and menopause often get it due to a lack of progesterone and higher estrogen levels.

Thus, you really need to see your doctor and have some testing done to get to the root of the problem. This can occur in both males and females, because the hormonal balance of both sexes is quite precarious and is easy to upset.

Have you had any other odd symptoms?

This happens with HCQ. Even I am sufferring from the same. It darkens the skin.

This happens with HCQS when you take it on day time. Start taking it in night. You will see the difference.
