Aurobindo Pharmaceuticals

Wife received a new pill made by this company as a sub for her usual oxycodon-acetaminophen 7.5-325, white football shaped small pill with the ID U16 on one side and the other blank, The pills seem to have no real relief of pain compared to the other made by Mylan, they are either much weaker or out right rip offs, have contacted RiteAid who just started using these things to see what they say. If it is going to be this way, she will have to change to the more expensive regular Percocet, cost more, but always work. What are the drug manufacturers up to now they increase prices but lower quality and pain relief. They are screwing with the wrong people, people in real pain need relief and do not and will not tolerate silly crap from anyone. Hi William,

I understand your frustration with the drug manufacturers trying to finagle patients into having to spend large dollars for a working version of the same medication that should work without having to purchase a brand name. Unfortunately with the way they have it set up there's not much you can do as a patient/customer except turn your business to natural alternatives or try to get your voice heard through petitions (which can often take a lot time and effort).

The fact of the matter is they are a profit driven business (like most other corporations) and are not in it for the health and wellbeing of each and everyone of us. So I guess you can't really expect them to have our best interest in mind at all, unless they benefit from it as well. However it seems no one is really benefiting from them dispensing inferior medications, not even them in the long run, since returning patients will eventually make a point to avoid purchasing certain prescriptions altogether. You'd think that something will have to change eventually over the years, because bad service can only go on for so long.

That manufacturer seems to be doing something wrong. My pharmacy changed my blood pressure med to Aurobindo and my heart rythmn was messed up, blood pressure all over, I couldn't even leave the house. Something should be done about them!

Thank you so much for posting this. I'm experiencing no pain relief with Aurobindo oxycodone. I'm so miserable - besides the pain, I'm agitated, anxious and just want to crawl under the covers and hide. I'm not sure which brand I had been taking - they were pink, and within 20 minutes, I could function.

Walgreens switched my medication from Teva Mirtazapine to Aurobindo Mirtazapine. Aurobindo one has reduced effect and within 3 weeks of taking it, I had a withdrawal symptoms. There is something wrong with the Aurobindo company. In order to make profit from cheap generic medication, I guess they may not be making pills properly (proper amount of chemicals in one pill.)

I called different Walgreens, CVS, and Target Pharmacy, but they all have a contract with Aurobindo. Finally Safeway Pharmacy had Teva. I luckily filled my prescription from Safeway this time, but they said Teva one is the last one's on their shelf. The future purchase at Safeway will be Aurobindo. It seems Aurobindo is cheaper, so all the pharmacies are switching to Aurobindo. Now I have to do more searching for Teva, or go back to a non generic choice, which costs me 20 times more ($7 versus $145).

I have been taking Teva Famotidine for years. CVS just switched to Aurobindo Famotidine. It gave me a stomach ache. I tried it for 3 days because I wasn't sure that was what was doing it. I called the pharmacist at CVS who said it might not be the pill because she hadn't had any complaints. I tried it one more pill and my stomach pain became so severe that I have been in pain for over a week. I called the pharmacist to let them know. I had an entire bottle of Teva Famotidine left over, so I thought I would use it. The outdate was only 3 months from when I filled it. I called CVS, which usually puts 1 year outdate on every prescription. They told me that they only do that when a medication outdate is beyond a year of fill. When the outdate is less than a year, they put the actual outdate. Good to know. Check your outdates of all medications you pick up. I'm still in pain from the Aurobindo Famotidine. I wonder what is it in it that is causing this...and my stomach acid was still high while taking it.

It's unfortunate it the only remedy currently available is using the brand name at least until you can find an adequate and effective generic equivelent. I would be irate myself but as my wife once reminded me when a generic was ineffective spend the money for the brand, you can never put a price on your health and what's the use of using a generic that's bogus if options are available ...

Easy for you to say... Sounds like you can afford to pay for name brand or you have super deluxe insurance. Your remarks don't help the majority but glad you can brush it off so easily. Walk N as mile in our shoes.

I too have been taking these lately and am about to start going to another pharmacy because they are crap. U guys gotta understand though that 1) the companies make lots of money and save money by doing this to us the buyers. And 2) the opioid epidemic has been hitting the U.S. hard, so I kinda think they are doing this on purpose because of it. Maybe trying to bring it down a notch so less people die. It really sucks because there are people like us who really need these pain meds because we are in pain. And then we have the ones who use the system and don't have pain but get a script and sell them to drug heads who overdose off these meds and then makes it harder for the people that need them because they start putting so many restrictions on it and then start bringing our dosages and supply down because of these kinds of people. S*** sucks but reality is, this is the kind of world we live in.

I've been taking a generic of Plavix for some time. When I had my prescription refilled I noticed they were a different color. The pharmacist advised that aurobindo pharma is just what the warehouse sent. How can I know if these pills will be as effective as the others were? When RX's are refilled, why is it often necessary for a pharmacy to use a different pill?Thanks.

I posted on this string of messages before regarding Aurobindo brand norco. Meijer pharmacy has now switched to this brand because it is cheaper. I have taken norco for almost 2 years for chronic pain and have never had an issue until my pharmacy gave me this brand, I felt ill after the first day taking them, no pain relief at all and a long list of other scary symptoms I had never experienced even prompting an ER visit where they found everything to be "normal" of course. This month I went back to Walgreens and specifically asked what brand they use, which was Watson. As soon as I started to take the new "real" norco everything returned to normal and my strange list of symptoms disappeared completely. This is no coincidence! Drug stores need to STOP carrying this brand, its poison if you ask me. I went to every prescription bottle in the house making sure we did not have this brand of medication, turns out my husbands cardiac meds are aurobindo and he has also been complaining of feeling ill. I told him not to get this brand next month and to request a different generic..he thinks I'm crazy and this is all in my head..clearly it isnt! I'm betting when he stops taking this brand his symptoms will disappear just like mine did. I even told all of my family members to be sure they NEVER get this brand!

Thank you, I'm going thru this same garbage at Meijer in Battle Creek, MI and believe me I will no longer buy scripts or OTC, products from them either! That's how you deal with greedy pigs, that put profits before the health of trusting customers.

I will add my reply from another thread. I’ve taken this asthma and allergy medicine called Singulair for many years. One month I filled it and had crazy asthma attacks and allergies the entire month. The next month I switched to brand and it resolved itself. I kept the bottle, just checked it out, says it’s manufactured by Aurobindo. What is wrong with this company???

I too suffer with GERD. I been taking Aurobindo famotidine and it doesn't help at all. My stomach burns.
I tried the Teva too...it too stops after 5 hours (20 mg)
