Atorvastatin And Fenofibrate Tablets

I am 41 years old. My triglycerides 225 (188), Cholestrol174 (159) LDL-114(110) and HDL-20(20R). Note with in the brackets are test dated 10-08-2010.
My doctor advised me to take Fibator tablet containing atorvastatin 10 mg and fenofibrate IP 145 mg. as regular course. Kindly advise whether these tables are right advice also sugest me any side effects on that and how log can take this..

Atorvastatin and Fenofibrate are commonly used to help lower elevated cholesterol levels.

The side effects they may cause can include: nausea, headache, dizziness and joint/muscle aches.

As to how long you have to take them, you should talk to your doctor about that. They should check your levels on a regular basis, to see how well you are responding to the medications and the decision should be based on those results.

my wife aged 58 years got her angioplasty done in May'2012.she had been advised atorvastatin 40 mg once daily. recently she got her lipids tested which showed increase in triglycerides which is 195 , total cholestrol 117, HDL 30.8, LDL 47.2, VLDL 39.0, Serum creatinine is 1.38,
The Dr. (cardiologist) suggested to stop the medicine erinac P and dolonex Dt she was taking for Rheumatoid arthritis as this was responsible for increase in creatinine levels, to lower triglycerides, he suggested to take fenofibrate 200 mg alongwith atorvastatin 40 mg.
Is this combination safe and good for use?
will this not cause renal impairment and other problems like headache, fever, dihhorea etc.
Is there any other safe medicine which can be consumed .
