What is considered a normal dose of Ativan? Which dose works best for what? Does it have a high risk for abuse? Are side effects frequently encountered? Any difficulty in getting scripts filled? ## There is no normal dose, per se, it really depends on the person being treated and the severity of the condition being treated. Yes, the FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming, and abused. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, and irritability. It is a controlled substance, so most pharmacies will strictly regulate how often you can get in filled, and they watch the dosage you are taking. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I would like to know more about Ativan if anyone has additional information to share.

Here is my story. I've been on Ativan since December, taking it to help with chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting. I was initially taking 0.50mg Ativan every six hours and was able to get off it without any withdrawal symptoms after the first two rounds. However, from the third round, things got extremely difficult. At one point, I found myself taking it twice a day, approximately every seven hours, without any issues. When the time for my chemotherapy treatment came around again, I had to increase the dosage back to 0.50mg every six hours for roughly six days. I attempted to quit cold turkey but soon realized that I was addicted— I started experiencing withdrawal symptoms like shaking, weird thoughts, strange dreams, and generally not feeling like myself. Right now, I am ...

I took 1 0.5mg pill of lorazapam (generic for ativan) on Sunday night at around 10pm and have a drug test Tuesday at 4pm, will I fail? I do not take any other drugs and only took this one pill one time for anxiety. ## Lorazepam is a Benzodiazepine and these can be detectable in a urine test for up to 6 weeks, after last dosing, so yes, there is a chance that you may fail the test. There is no precise time frame that can be given, however, because individuating factors also play a role, such as your metabolism, overall health, activity levels, fluid intake and etc. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Not TRUE! Ativan is one of the Fastest Acting in and out Benzo there is... and it will Certainly be Ouyt of your system by 22 hours - Unless you have a problem with your Liver or othe...

I AMA having a very painful procedure today can I take 3 or 4 ativan just before to help me though it. I'm 65 and mostly healthy ## Very dangerous. You should NEVER take 3 or 4 under any circumstances! ## Hello I am having knee surgery in a few days. Is it ok to take my Ativan prior to surgery? If so how much is safe. I normally take 2 mg twice a day... ## Do not take anything, prior to surgery, or any medical procedure, without your doctor, or surgeons approval. Some medications may not be safe to mix with substances that may be administered to you during the procedure, which could result in dangerous, and possibly fatal, interactions. Ativan is a benzodiazepine, so it can cause side effects, such as dizziness, drowsiness, and sedation, combining that with pain relievers, or anesth...

Oval or football shaped white tablet scored in the middle, breaks easily. A on left and 150 on right side, nothing on the back. has a few blue specks. Came from China ## I received my prescription from China that were supposed to be brand Wyeth Ativan. The medicine came in a baggie with no insert of what they were. The pills were white with blue flecks, oval shaped like a football, scored down the middle. On the left was the letter A and on the right of the score were the numbers 59. I have seen pills like these that are phentermine. So I was sent something entirely different from what I had ordered. It would have been dangerous for me to have taken this medication if it is phentermine. This is a very serious error and someone should know about this and correct this. ## Don't act su...

how strong is a ativan 0.5mg and what is for nreve or what ## Information I was able to gather states that Ativan is a powerful anxiolytic with a relatively high addictive potential. Ativan has all five intrinsic benzodiazepine effects: anxiolytic, amnesic, sedative/hypnotic, anticonvulsant and muscle relaxant For more information about Ativan, please follow the link below... If you have any more questions or concerns, please post back and I will be happy to help you. ## I am told that adivan ``is like a muscle relaxer''. My favorite muscle relaxer is the COX2 viox; that stuff used to work well; these days I will take a celebrex; also this works well. I have used ativan for as a muscle relaxer before; my doc said it would be ok. I was getting a DAW 4 @1. That is 4 pills; 1 milli...

Does ativan / lorazepam lower blood pressure at 1 mg tab? I am starting new bp meds that haven't kicked in yet. I was weaning off ativan but felt pressure was a bit high so I took a whole 1 mg for the first time in a week. I was down to 1 1/2 for the whole day. The ER gave me 2 mg to lower my blood pressure and it worked but I don't want to take 2. Will 1 reduce it some? ## ativan lowered my blood pressure really fast to where I almost kicked off with only 1 mg of this crazy medication I thought clonazepam was bad , but lorazepam take's the cake... Back to Clonazepam for me ... screw ativan = lorazepam... ## Wow, that is a very unusual reaction. In response to the original question, yes it can help to lower blood pressure. As a matter of fact, it is sometimes used for those ...

I have taken Pur-Bloka previously, with not much luck. Being a bridesmaid at my sister's wedding, having bipolar2 stabelised, I experience my emotions grabbing hold. (I did not want to be so anxious that I faint, or have an attack! in the aistle ) My Pshyciatrist was unavailable to provide me with a calming aid, so i saw one of her collegues. She prescribed Pur-Bloka. As she instructed, i took one tab 2hrs before the weddingand only became more worked and experienced such hot flashes! Ok, long story short. I have had alot of stress at work and my job is encreadably demanding. too many things came at me, and this afternoon i had the worst attack. I emmediately took a 40mg Pur-Bloka. I felabsolutely no difference, undrstanding that they do take a while. My mom arrived 10-15min later w...

I am trying to find out if what i have, is what i think it is, but i am not sure what color liquid lorazepam comes in. If someone could help me by answering, id be so grateful. ty ## Just because it may be a particular color doesn't mean it's Ativan/Lorazepam, so it still wouldn't likely be safe to try using it, because there are many other things that it could be. Learn more Ativan details here. There is no color coding for injectable liquids, so they can be whatever color the manufacturer feels like making them, or not have any, if they so choose. Most are clear, or may have a slight yellow tint to avoid the use of dyes that some people may be allergic to. Just from a quick browse online, the ones I am seeing images of are all clear liquids, but as I said, that doesn't...

found at grandmothers house after she died some pills in a bottle with nothing on it C18 round white score on other side that is all that is on it ## I haven't been able to find any listings for a tablet with this marking. That leads me to suspect that it's most likely an over the counter product, of some type, since they aren't required to list their imprints with the FDA. I have been taking Ativan for anxiety and my doctor is going to stop prescribing them. He said that nationwide doctors are no longer prescribing benzodiazepines. I don’t know how to find a doctor who will and I know calling doctors wouldn’t be a good idea. Hope someone in Northern California can suggest someone.

I have acute anxiety/panic attacks. My pain mgmnt Dr used to prescribe Ativan along with hydrocodone up till 2016 as their new policy prohibited it. Family Dr then prescribed my Ativan till the opioid crisis hit with the DEA, etc telling Dr's basically how to treat their patients. After several referrals to Psych Dr's within the same hospital as pain mgmnt, they said they could not prescribe it, that it had to be pain mgmnt. Each said other Dr had to. Anyway, found a decent Psych who after in depth appointments, past history, prescribed Ativan for me in June 2019. Went to my scheduled pain mgmnt appt July 3, 2019, and was dropped because I now take a legally obtained benzodiazepine and their policy is "One or the other, you choose". So I chose to be able to function in p...

I am currently experiencing anxiety and sever depression and anhedonia. So far I've found that Ativan seems to relieve the depression, but not really the anxiety.(I feel kind of eurphoric on .5mg for a few hours.) I'm having strange reactions to benzos right now, with my condition seemingly being caused by clonazepam. My question is that are there any dedicated antidepressents (preferably used as an augment for nortriptyline) that influence depression-related chemicals in the brain in a similar way as Ativan? I think I saw somewhere that Ativan affects GABA.

my patient tells me that Sandoz 0.5mg Ativan works for him and Watson Ativan 0.5mg does not. it makes him feel hazy. ## Hi, Joseph! What many people, even those in the medical profession aren't aware of, is that there are some differences between generic medications. The FDA actually allows them to fluctuate from the name brand in the amount of the active ingredient by as much as plus or minus 20%. (This is under the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984, if you'd like to research it for reference.) The FDA considers that fluctuation amount to be therapeutically insignificant, and for most people it is. However, what happens is that generic manufacturers aren't required to measure against each other, only against the amount that was in the original name brand. Most people still never not...

If I take about 30-40mg of Ativan today/tomorrow will I pass a drug screen on next wed. ( about a week) I keep seeing and hearing different things! I haven't taken anything like this in years, so just wondering how long it takes to clear!! ## Ativan contains the active ingredient Lorazepam, this is a Benzodiazepine, used to treat anxiety and nervous disorders. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, irritability and headache. That said, 30 to 40mgs is a VERY high dosage and it is not safe to take that much at once. This is a very potent medication, what are you taking that much? I am assuming that since you are concerned about the drug screen, you do not have a prescription for this. If you do not take any more for a week, yes, it would be out of your system by then. Ho...
